3 months later and its finally here. All the way from the UK. Had to have a pink 🩷 slow cooker.

I honestly thought I was making a really “clean” choice with my herbal teas… 🌿
But I’ve learned that even some of the fancy tea bags (like the silky ones ) can contain plastics… and that didn’t sit right with me.
So I’ve started being a bit more mindful, checking labels and switching where I can.
Loving my simple, plastic-free option from at the moment ☕️
Not about being perfect… just making small, better choices 💛

Nothing beats having a pot of homemade beef bone broth slowly doing its thing for 24 hours.

I grabbed some brisket bones from my local butcher, popped them straight into the slow cooker, and added just a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar first, letting it sit for about 20 minutes before turning it on.

This little step helps draw out all the goodness from the bones… minerals, collagen, all the things our bodies love.

From there, I kept it simple and used what I had in the cupboard, garlic, bay leaves, caraway, cloves seeds, a touch of cayenne, a good few teaspoons of salt, and a mix of herbs. Nothing fancy… just real ingredients.

After 24 hours of slow cooking, I pulled the bones out and gave it a blend with my trusty stick mixer. Then into containers, some for the fridge, some for the freezer.

And the best part… it set into that beautiful thick, jelly-like consistency
That’s when you know it’s full of collagen.

This is one of the reasons I love making my own broth. It’s such a natural way to support your body, from joints and tendons to skin and gut, without needing anything processed.

These days, this is just part of my carnivore lifestyle. I also like to add extra fat into my broth because eating this way is about nourishing your body with both fat and protein together… keeping things simple, satisfying, and supportive.

It’s not complicated. It’s just getting back to basics… eating real food that our bodies recognise and thrive on. When you start paying attention to what you’re consuming, you realise not everything out there is as it seems.

The more you learn and tune into your own health, the more aware you become, and that awareness alone can make such a powerful difference in how you support your body long term.

Nothing quite like a ribeye on the bone 🤤🔥

Once a month, my daughter Tahlai, Jake and I get together for dinner. It used to be Chinese food… but as I started changing my lifestyle, I wanted something we could still enjoy together, and this just works.

These ribeyes are HUGE, so we usually cook two. Jake is the smoker king 👑, temperature gauges, perfect timing, slow cook, then a quick sear on the BBQ… and wow, it’s next level.

We don’t even need anything on the side. Just good quality meat, cooked properly, shared together. That’s it.

And honestly… this way of eating has changed so much for me.

✨ My skin has cleared
✨ My hormones feel balanced
✨ My cycle is back to clockwork
✨ No more constant hunger
✨ Headaches (and migraines!) have pretty much disappeared.
✨ And the biggest one… the weight has come off without even trying.

I naturally moved to eating once a day, not forced, just what my body settled into over time. And when you’re actually nourishing yourself properly, everything just feels… easier.
For me, it’s been about simplifying. Cutting out the processed stuff, focusing on real food, and supporting my body from the inside out.

Not saying it’s for everyone, but I will say this…
When your health becomes more important than your old habits, everything starts to shift.
Grateful every day that I made the change.

This plate might not look that appetising… but what it does for me is everything.
✍️
Pulled beef, a 3-egg omelette cooked in chicken fat, crispy chicken skin, pork & fennel sausage, a little bacon… plus some jalapeños and capers for that extra bite.

This way of eating keeps me full, truly satisfied. No snacking, no crashes, no brain fog.

I eat once a day, and that’s enough. My energy is steady, my mind is clear, and I’m not riding the rollercoaster of constant insulin spikes.
But it goes deeper than that…

I honestly felt like I was heading into perimenopause, hormones all over the place, poor sleep, rosacea starting out of nowhere.

Since changing the way I eat, everything has shifted.

My hormones feel stable. I’m sleeping properly again. My skin has completely cleared. I just feel happier in myself.

Even the seasonal dips I usually get this time of year only lasted a couple of days this week… and I bounced straight back to feeling like me again.

I’ve always been lactose intolerant, so I stuck to lactose-free… but removing dairy altogether has been a game changer. Now if I have it occasionally, I feel it instantly in my digestion.
The inflammation, the aches and pains, they’ve eased right off.

And something really personal…
I’ve been on one antidepressant for 28 years. Every time I tried to come off it before, I’d fall straight back into that place.

But this time feels different.
By fuelling my body and brain properly, I’ve reduced it by nearly half, something I never thought was possible.

For the first time, I truly believe I can come off it for good. I’m halfway there, and my goal is to be completely off it by the end of this year, gently and safely.

This isn’t about restriction… it’s about nourishment. 🥩🥓🥚🍗🍖🐟

Simple. Satisfying. Sustainable.

Slow cooked, simple, and full of flavour
Prepped this one overnight… 16 hours in the slow cooker.
So dinner’s already done before the day even starts ✔️

500g grass-fed, grass-finished beef (mini slow cooker, perfect for one, or scale up if needed)
Best cuts for this: Chuck, oyster blade, beef cheeks, brisket, gravy beef or short ribs, anything that breaks down beautifully low & slow.

Quick sear first
I browned the beef in a frypan using leftover chicken fat/drippings (adds SO much flavour), then straight into the slow cooker.

Kept it simple: Smoked paprika, curcumin, parsley, oregano, chimichurri, garlic, bay leaves, clove + beef stock.
That’s it.

I always keep the fat in, being more carnivore/keto, that balance of fat + protein just works.

Keeps me full, satisfied, and nourished.
I do prefer grass-fed, grass-finished where I can… but honestly, just do what works for you.

This way of eating has been a game changer for me, skin, hormones, energy… and it’s just simple.

Real food. No fuss.
