So, I did a thing! I trusted someone to shoot me and had my first business photoshoot since I started my social media company -- new headshot, who dis?! 😂

I had a blast and gained a new friend/potential business partner in the process. Won't HE do it?! 🙌🏽

If you're a business owner, especially if you're a professional photographer yourself, I know how easy it can be to just say "I'll just use my cell phone or camera and take my own headshots and content photos." But let me tell you something, from experience. There's so much power in collaboration, networking, and trusting someone to capture you in a different light.

And during this process, you're able to take a load off and enjoy the journey vs trying to do and be everything for you and your business.

With all that being said, I'm working on updating my offerings. Soon you'll be able to get monthly branded photoshoots, a 30 day content calendar planned out, with reels so you won't have to think about what to post and you can market better. 😉 Level up during Q2!! More info coming soon.

I just found out that one of my friends has been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. She is such a light and I would really appreciate if you all would share this post and donate if you can. Anything is appreciated.

I've had social media clients that were eager to get results. They were hyper focused on follower count and some even paid for followers.

I'm sure you've seen or heard this before, but I'll say it again just in case. Followers don't equal sales, new clients, or more money in your pocket. It's a vanity metric. In my personal opinion, you should never pay for followers because it makes it difficult to really read your metrics and plan your next steps on social effectively to grow your brand.

Instead of follower count, pay attention to
🐝 accounts reached
🐝 accounts engaged
🐝 impressions

and what you're really doing all this work for which would be...

🐝 profile visits and website/email/text taps

And, instead of throwing your money at the first person that inboxes you "we want to promote your business," trust your social media manager to guide you in the right direction to effectively grow online. These things don't happen overnight.

If you're in need of a social media manager, hit me up! I'm offering free consultations for the month of January and I have two slots available for new clients. (Don't say I didn't tell you.)

2022 is just a few weeks away. Here are a few things that I'm doing in order to digitally prep for the year ahead and start off the new year in a clear and positive mindset.

1. I've unfollowed accounts that don't align with where I want to be.

You aren't only what you eat. You become what you consume whether that be what you watch, what you listen to, or what you see. I've noticed that there have been a few popular accounts that I've followed in the past that just feed negativity. I don't want to entertain negative thoughts so as the year 2022 approaches, I've taken the time to go through the accounts I follow and unfollow the accounts that don't serve what I want to be about moving forward.

2. I've removed accounts that don't have a profile picture.

Usually, accounts that don't have profile pictures are bots or accounts that don't interact with your content. Finding and removing inactive Instagram followers is important if you want a good engagement rate. If your engagement rate is low, you might have a lot of inactive or ghost Instagram followers. If you’re not consistently removing inactive Instagram followers, your engagement rate will start decreasing as your followers are increasing. This is important to do if you want a better understanding of who is engaging with your content and what is working (and not working) for your brand.

3. Delete apps you don't use.

Clearing up clutter gives your mind more freedom to be creative and execute the goals and plans you have. (from personal experience)

4. Delete old files from your canva account and your computer.

Give yourself a new, clean slate to be creative as we approach the new year.

5. Clean out your email accounts and unsubscribe from email lists you don't use.

The less clutter you have, the less distractions you have. And, this isn't just digitally...it works within your creative space as well. Do a little winter cleaning and remove any and everything that you no longer need, that isn't serving you positively, that isn't helping you be creative and analytical. Start the new year off fresh.

If this has helped you, like, comment, and share. 🐝 🙂

Here IG goes again with the updates…and with this new update, I guess y’all can see my face every once and awhile.

I’ll probably start officially in November.

If you didn’t already know, going live helps increase your followers and IG is still heavily pushing video content so if you’re looking to grow…pull up on a live and say what’s up.

I’m going to strive to get over this thing I have with this feature before the end of the year so be on the look out for some scheduled sessions I’ll be posting soon. 🐝

Today’s message: Be careful how you treat people and how you do business.

Communication is key on so many levels.

Speak clearly and don’t leave people hanging.
