The report on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises’ Access to Finance in Cambodia.

The report aims to "gain more understanding about this issue, key questions need to be addressed, including the following: Is finance still a constraint, including for certain classes of enterprises, such as mediumsized ones? What mechanisms, such as credit guarantees, collateral support, and directed credit, have been the most beneficial in closing the gap? Is there gender disparity in access to finance? And are there public and/or private sector measures to overcome any existing regulatory, normative and contextual barriers to women entrepreneurs' equal access to finance? How have demand-side programmes, such as financial literacy, aided MSME? And how have FinTech and digital finance helped to increase access to finance"

Adopted in 2019, inclusive business (IB) has become an important agenda in Cambodia with 18 companies recognized by the first IB accreditation in 2021. Further in August 2022, the Royal Government of Cambodia endorsed IB Steering Group under the leadership of Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) with engagement of public agencies and business associations.

IB is a commercially viable and responsible core-business line that provides scaled-up, innovative and systemic solutions for the relevant problems of the poor and low-income people. Key aspects of IB include (1) commercially viable, (2) scale or scalable, (3) intentionally relevant and impactful for the bottom of pyramid (BoP), (4) innovative and addressing bottom 40 (B40) and business risks, (5) directly engage of the poor and low-income people (BOP, B40).

BDtruS is one of the key consultants supporting the IB implementation in Cambodia and intensively contributing to successful conduct of the Fifth IB Summit under the theme of "Together ASEAN IBee" on 26-27 November 2022 in collaboration with MISTI, Inclusive Business Action Network (iBAN), and a number of other entities.
