📢 This message is shared for the attention of all relevant authorities and educators.
Recently, I had the pleasure of witnessing a group of students from one school in Hambantota presenting a range of brilliant innovations at Techno 2025. 💡✨
It was truly inspiring — a proud moment for our district! 🇱🇰
However, at the same time, I learned that another nearby school had not taken any part in the event — not a single student participated. This made me wonder — is the problem with the students, or the teachers?
In my understanding, the main responsibility lies with the teachers, because true education is not just about books — it’s about awakening creativity and guiding young minds forward.
📚 Unfortunately, the reality in many schools today is:
1️⃣ From morning till evening, life is all about textbooks.
2️⃣ There is little or no space for creativity.
3️⃣ Classes are divided based on academic results, not talent.
4️⃣ Innovation is rarely respected or rewarded. 😞
If the students of our neighboring schools can achieve great things, why can’t we?
What we need is strong, visionary teachers who can guide and motivate students to explore, create, and innovate. 🌟
During my own school days, I saw how students who tried to do something creative were often ignored.
Their innovative efforts were not valued — while small handmade crafts or decorative work were praised instead.
That mindset is one of the biggest barriers in our education system today. 🚫
💬 In today’s world, innovation is the key to progress.
If schools fail to encourage it, they will fall behind.
We must create schools that give students thinking space, creative freedom, and real-world learning opportunities — guided by qualified, open-minded teachers. 💪
🧠 “Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders” — but those words mean nothing unless we turn them into action.
Action speaks louder than words.
Yes, I know — some teachers might get upset reading this 😅
But it’s okay. If even one student grows because of this message, it’s worth it. 🌱
Let’s leave behind the old ways of thinking, and open the doors to new ideas.
Let’s build schools that create innovators, dreamers, and leaders. 🚀
