The Office of Hon. Michael Thomas, Representative, District #4, Montserrado County, Liberia
Independence Day Message
July 26, 2026, as Liberia celebrates 179 Years of Liberty
On this 179th anniversary of Liberia's independence, the Office of Hon. Michael Thomas extends heartfelt greetings to the resilient people of Electoral District #4, Montserrado County, the President, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, the Chief Justice and Members of the Judiciary, Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, Protemp Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence and Members of the Legislature, our religious leaders, and all Liberians at home and abroad.
This day calls us to remember the courage of our founding Fathers, whose sacrifices secured the sovereignty we now enjoy. Their legacy fuels our resolve as we confront the economic, social, and political hurdles of our time. In the face of these challenges, we remain unbowed—united in our shared commitment to democracy, fairness, and the dignity of every citizen.
We also pause to salute our heroes—past and present—whose service to the Nation and community continues to light our path. Their dedication is both a reminder of what we owe and a summons to action for every Liberian to help shape a better society.
As we raise our flag in celebration, let us reaffirm our collective pledge: to pursue peace, foster unity, and drive inclusive progress. May we support each other in building a Liberia that offers opportunity and hope to all, today and for generations to come.
Happy Independence Day to the resilient people of District #4!
Happy Independence Day, Liberia!
