DELIVERING RELIEF, CONNECTING OUR PEOPLE: SENATORS MOYE AND KONNEH PARTNER TO OPEN A NEW LIFELINE BETWEEN B**G AND GBARPOLU
The Office of Senator Prince Kermue Moye Sr. is pleased to acknowledge and highlight its partnership with the Office of Senator Amara M. Konneh of Gbarpolu County, working through the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, to provide a much-needed ferry service connecting communities across the St. Paul River.
This intervention is about people, access, and opportunity.
For years, communities on both sides of the river have struggled with isolation, particularly farmers whose crops risk spoiling because of the lack of reliable transportation. The placement of the ferry provides immediate relief while the Government works toward the construction of a permanent bridge.
The ferry will help connect communities to major economic corridors and markets, giving farmers greater opportunities to transport their produce to major trading centers, thereby improving livelihoods and stimulating local commerce.
The Office of Senator Prince Kermue Moye therefore considers this collaboration with Senator Amara Konneh a demonstration of what can happen when elected leaders put the interests of their people above political boundaries.
B**g and Gbarpolu are neighbors. Our people trade together, travel together, farm together and share common aspirations. Development should therefore connect us—not divide us.
Senator Moye has meanwhile promised to work with authorities of bordering counties to ease access for his people of B**g.
The dedication was done over the weekend, with Senator Moye not being present due to other engagements.
