154 Migrants Return to Gambia on IOM Humanitarian Flights

One hundred and fifty-four migrants returned to The Gambia on Tuesday via two IOM Voluntary Humanitarian Return flights from Tripoli, Libya.

The flights, which transited through Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, landed at Banjul International Airport at 7:00 p.m.
The group included 100 Burkinabè nationals and 54 Gambians. Four Gambians were released from Libyan detention centers, while 50 came from urban areas.
The EU-funded operation, coordinated by IOM, provided medical and logistical support to ensure a safe and dignified return.

This week, 150 migrants returned home via an IOM Voluntary Humanitarian Return flight from Tripoli 🇱🇾 to Banjul 🇬🇲 ✈️.

With medical and operational support throughout the journey, beneficiaries were assisted to return safely and with dignity. Thanks to 🇪🇺 European Union in Libya / الإتحاد الأوروبي في ليبيا support.

A diplomat from the Embassy of visited the Illegal Immigration Center in eastern Tripoli on Tuesday to complete the necessary procedures for the return of a group of Gambian migrants to their homeland.

5 days ago Yesterday, IOM facilitated the voluntary return of 156 stranded Gambian migrants from Libya thanks to EU International Partnerships’ support.

Upon arrival, they received:

🛍️ Non-food item kits
🏡 Temporary accommodation
⚕️ Medical and psychosocial screenings

They'll soon reunited with their families.

A Gambia migrant living in Tripoli Libya has died this morning, his name is Sheriff Khan from brikama , his father's name is Saikou Khan and his mother's name is Nday Camara

He already registered waiting for a voluntary flight back to Gambia, but because of the delays of the flight he passed this morning may Allah have Marcy on his soul amen.
