Taking a walk on the wild side ...
.. now I mean this figuratively speaking as walking holidays is a great way to explore nature, culture, and beautiful scenery ...
.. and thousands of people book "walking holidays" every year ...
.. but if you're like me, I'm really not into "organized" or "group" holidays that spend endless hours walking around tourist areas and listening to the rehearsed preambles of a "guide" ...
.. I much prefer to go off the beaten track make my own discoveries - talk to the local inhabitants, see wildlife in their own habitat ... and trying out new experiences - even if they don't turn out quite as one expected!

Care of the elderly in their own homes is becoming a necessity these days - and sometimes it hits without warning ...

Caring for elderly relatives can throw up some hugely challenging responsibilities - whether they be physical, emotional, financial or logistical - and even if they start in just one of these areas - they invariably become a combination of - or a blanket of all across the board.

It is very sad to see ...
.. how many animal species, including birds, fish, turtles and mammals around the world are currently facing extinction due to a variety of human and environmental factors such as urban development, water pollution, non-native predators, traders, poachers and climate change - mostly due to deforestation.

There are individuals, communities, organisations, and governments who are attempting to save these animals from extinction by establishing protected areas, like national parks, wildlife reserves and also creating "re-forest" and "re-wild" areas where native habitats have been destroyed - and some attempt was being made to control urban sprawl and limit deforestation ...
.. however, from what I have witnessed, that appears to have gone by the board in some countries who are more intent on building more and more homes to facilitate illegal human invaders to their shores!

Whilst animal extinction has gone on throughout the ages - think back to the age of the prehistoric animals, the Mammoth and the Dodo - that is no excuse for allowing it to happen today ... but it IS - and on a much larger scale.

As a starting point deforestation and reduction of laying concrete is vital in my opinion ...

Extinction is FOREVER!

The Facebook Enigma ...

This can happen to ANYONE - join us in this discussion about the enigma surrounding Facebook's (Meta's) unfair policy on suspending individual accounts without a valid reason or explanation - leaving users confused and unable to a meaningful appeal.

Both of us have suffered from account suspension, at different times ... and the only "advise" from support ...

“You have violated our Community Standards..” and "read the guidelines" ...
.. but what good is that when the internal guidelines Meta's Facebook uses are not fully disclosed?

This makes it hard for users to understand what they did wrong.

The mystery deepens :

➣ Who is making the decisions?

➣ Why are so many legitimate users caught in the net?

➣ Why is it so hard to get help or appeal?

Nothing is clear - so how on earth are any of us able to stay within their so called "guidelines"

Everyone has a different perspective ...
.. and Parliament are living up to their normal standards of sitting on the fence when it comes to the serious matter of Assisted Dying (or "End of Life" as they choose to call it) ... no surprise there hey!

The government has remained neutral on the subject, with divided opinions among cabinet members - HELLO! ... of course there's going to be divided opinions ...
.. but there's only 2 opinions - YES or NO - it's hardly rocket science!

The bill had its first reading in the House of Lords in October 2024 - and as far as I can make out - they've not made any further progress ... but isn't that typical?

I also understand Keir Starmer "pledged" to allow a free vote on assisted dying laws, emphasising that MPs can vote based on "conscience" rather than "party lines" ...
.. I SHOULD HOPE SO! - there is no sentiment in politics!

I further understand that the bill's "implementation timeline" has been a point of discussion ... i.e. extending the implementation period from two to four years, potentially delaying the law's enactment until 2029!

MY take on their ridiculous and insensitive delay is the old adage
"If you ignore "it" - "it" will go away!

IT WILL NOT GO AWAY!

I applaud Esther Rantzen and her daughter - and the hoards of supporters who are backing this bill who will all have their own stories of pain and suffering, or that of their loved ones.

Note to all government officials - PULL YOUR FINGER OUT - Put it to the people of the UK - after all - it's OUR choice how we want to end their lives ... NOT YOURS!

I don't know about you ...
.. but the amount of people who make excuses for not doing something because of their "mental health" these days is running out of control.

Sure, there are genuine cases of REAL mental health issues ...
.. but there are a growing number of people who use "FAKE mental health issues" as a reason for their bad behaviour, attention seeking, work & accountability avoidance ... and a whole plethora of other excuses ... so much so it's become a "trend".

Over the years I've met a great deal of people from a wide range of sectors - and have found that genuine people who are battling life changing injuries or illnesses never complain, never make excuses - and always go out of their way to succeed in life, and help others whenever they can ...
.. and today we have a perfect example of a gentleman who is the absolute epitome of this ... Enjoy!
