It was a privilege to have been part of ‘Under The Starry Sky’ program organized by World Federation of United Nations Associations and SpareBank 1 SMN . It was a once in a lifetime experience with 100 youths from 25 different countries in a sailing boat Stiftelsen Seilskipet Statsraad Lehmkuhl which is a historic and a very respected ship in Norway.

My colleagues (Martin Manyozo, Amoss Benjamin and Menia Kaputa) and I also had an opportunity to present our project Clean Cities Project during the sailing expedition

On top of that we also had the chance to Visit different world changing companies like Oceanize, Glamox just to mention a few. It was really inspiring because most of these companies have facilitated the change that most of the youths in the sailing expedition including us want to make.

It was also motivating and inspiring to listen to fellow sailor’s projects.

The sail expedition has also influenced my social life positively. I’ve bonded with people in a way that I could’ve never imagined and I do not take that lightly.

The ship’s crew was also nice company to be around. They are professional yet friendly, that’s a rare combination.

I never thought I’d say this but I can boldly say that I miss sea shanties and they were one of my favorite things that we’ve done on the expedition.

I also liked the fact that we had to fulfill different responsibilities like having watches like Helm watch, fire watch, lookout and bouy watch and other responsibilities that had go up in the rigging of the ship 😅. Other duties like cafeteria work, banjer cleaning among others were also nice to fulfill because serving others has always been nice and fulfilling.

You think doing whatever you wish makes your life easy right? WRONG!
Here is what I mean, when u do whatever your heart tells you to or whatever u wish to do at the time you luck self-discipline, when u luck discipline u can't commit to anything, when u can't commit to anything u can't achieve your goals, when you can't achieve your goals, it's hard for you to grow in any way, whether be it spiritually, financially, personally etc, when u cant grow u will live a mediocre life, you'll be easily pushed wherever the world pushes you, u will be easily controlled by people with different intentions... hence your life won't be easy anymore would it now?🚶🏾‍♂️
