Straight from a 7am Mass officiated at Bvumbwe Parish by Rev Fathers Louis Tsuro and Petro Chilumpha, praying for God's travel mercies, representatives of the Catholic Men Association (CMA) in Thyolo and Bangwe deaneries in the Archdiocese of Blantyre have this morning left for St. Andrew Kaggwa Parish in the Lilongwe Archdiocese.

It is all to join their counterparts from other deaneries from Blantyre and all eight dioceses in the country for the Third CMA National Annual General Conference.

The three-day gathering, which starts this evening, is being held under the theme "Rooted in Christ, CMA members sent as agents of evangrlisation'.
In his homily, at Bvumbwe Parish, Father Tsuro, who is the Thyolo Deanery CMA chaplain asked the CMA members to use the general conference to help them deepen their faith and, also, become more responsible in caring for their families.

A programme released by organisers of the event indicates that the conference will start this evening with a recollection on the theme while Right Rev Bishop Vincent Mwakhwawa will tomorrow preside over the Eucharistic celebration which will mark the opening of the conference.

The programme for tomorrow [Saturday] includes presentations on Mental and Prostrate Health, Implementation Phase of the Synod and Pathways towards Synodality, Catholic Men and Family, CMA Strategic Plan, and Church position on Human Trafficking, and the day will end with a cultural night.

The Eastern Chapter of the Association of Catholic Journalists (ACJ) has today planted 150 trees at Diada Primary School in Mkwanda Village, under Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mangochi District.

Head teacher John Andrew Phiri thanked the journalists for the initiative, noting that the school previously had no trees on its premises.

Phiri said the school will work together with surrounding community members to ensure that the trees are well taken care of.

Speaking during the exercise, ACJ National Secretary General Western Guta said the tree-planting activity at the school is part of promoting the message of the late Pope Francis, who demands urgent action against global warming, waste, and pollution, highlighting that environmental degradation disproportionately harms the poor.

Giada Primary School opened in January 2025 and currently has over 200 learners in Standards 1, 2, and 3.

Mwambo wa lero amakhazikitsa chikondwerero cha mayitanidwechi, chomwe chidzachitike Lamulungu pa 26 April pa dziko lonse, ndipo kuno ku Malawi chidzachikira pa Mangochi Cathedral.

Dayosizi zina zomwe zikuchita mwambo ngati womwewu lero ndi za Zomba ndi Mzuzu, pomwe Arkdayosizi za Blantyre ndi Lilongwe komanso dayosizi za Dedza ndi Chikwawa zidzakhazikitsa Lamulungu likubwerali pa 15 March. Dayosizi ya Karonga idzakhazikitsa pa 29 March.

M'mawu ake, Bishop Montfort Sitima yemwe amatsogolera mwambowu, walimbikitsa achinyamata kudzipereka kukatumikira ku unsembe, usisiteri, ubulazala ndi moyo wa banja, ndipo omwe anadzipereka nawo apitirire kudzipereka chimodzimodzi.

Dayosizi ya Mpingo wa Katolika ya Mangochi lero ikutsogolera mwambo wokhazikitsa zokonzekera za tsiku lopemphelera mayitanidwe mu Mpingowu.

Dayosiziyi ikulandira udindo wofalitsa za mayitanidwe m'chakachi kuchokera ku Arkidayosizi ya Blantyre yomwe yakhala ikutsogolera ntchitoyi mchaka chapitachi.

Padakali pano, mwambo wopereka zizindikiro za udindowu wachitika pomwe nthumwi zoyimira achinyamata ku Arkidayosizi ya Blantyre zapereka kolona komanso kandulo kwa Ambuye Montfort Sitima wa Dayosizi ya Mangochi omwenso atsogolera mwambo wa Nsembe ya Misa.
