Association to the International Water network of water professionals. WASAMA was registered under Trustee Act on 23rd June, 1998. WASAMA is a sleeping giant for which there exists a lot of potential to unlock value through, inter alia, its expansion in Malawi and through
effective marketing and imaging. The Association was establ

ished with the aim of ensuring maximum exchange of information in the water industry, experiences, research and water management which later on extended to the sanitation and hygiene sector. WASAMA aligns itself with the global water Associations who are platforms of water technology, sources of best practice, sources of focused ideas and strategy, reference points for information and meeting places for professionals. There is also a desire to promote greater local interaction and integrated water resources Management (IRWM). The membership of the Association is open to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) practitioners, Academia, Consultants, Contractors, Suppliers and NonGovernmental Organizations (NGOs) in the WASH sector.

We are looking for an OFFICE ASSISTANT tenable at our offices in CIL HOUSE, ECOBANK BUILDING AREA 3, LILONGWE.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An office assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. To effectively contribute to maintaining a pleasant and efficient work environment at WASAMA, the office assistant will undertake the following responsibilities:
1. General Cleaning:
o Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
o Dusting and wiping down surfaces.
o Cleaning windows and glass surfaces.
2. Restroom Maintenance:
o Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
o Restocking supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
3. Waste Management:
o Emptying trash bins and disposing of waste properly.
o Recycling materials as needed.
4. Specialized Cleaning:
o Cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas.
o Sanitizing high-touch areas like doorknobs and light switches.
5. Administrative Support:
o Answering phones and directing calls.
o Filing and organizing documents.
o Handling correspondence and emails.
6. Office Management:
o Coordinating office maintenance and repairs.
o Assisting with event planning and setup.
7. Customer Service:
o Greeting and assisting visitors.
o Providing information and support to staff and clients.
8. Any other reasonable official duties assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Malawi School Certificate of Education.
• Driver’s license.
• Excellence in reading, writing, and speaking the English and Chichewa languages.
• One year working experience
