I didn't agree to be a blind idiot

Early in January, we went with Anna to get a new driver's license since the old one had expired.

We came to the police station with the documents ready, paid the fees, and then they sent us to get our eyesight checked.

And that's a problem...

At least for me.

Because I can only see three lines at the top, and that is only with my left eye.

My wife went first.

She confidently named all the letters with her 100% vision (lucky girl).

My turn came.

I slowly stand in front of the line, frantically trying to remember the location of the letters on the board.

I also leisurely close my right eye, carefully looking at the letters.

Changing the order of the terms changes the sum

Last week I moved my workout to noon.

It was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.

I used to go to the gym by 6 am.

The pros were probably two:
* No one was there but me.
* I didn’t have to worry during the day that I hadn’t trained yet.

However, the downsides were many more.

First, I didn’t start working until around 9 am and “lost” two mega-productive hours from 6:30 to 8:30.

Because after the workout, I still had to eat breakfast and take the kids to school.

Secondly, the format of waking up and going to the gym right away was pretty stressful for me.

I like to meditate in the mornings, sit with a journal, have a cup of coffee, and read a book.

Below you'll find the critical email mistakes most e-commerce brands make. As a result, their emails end up in the Promo tab and subscribers complain about spam.

You can fix the first three on your own. And very quickly. With the others, you may need help. I'll leave a link at the bottom of the email where you can go with this.

Let's go...

Mistake #1 Putting their logo at the beginning of the email.

What's the point? The reader has already read your brand name in the "From Name" field.

The logo is useless and distracts from the point and reduces conversion.

The solution?

Remove the logo. Or move it to the bottom of the email if you can't do without it.

Mistake #2 Writing from the brand itself, not the specific face of the brand.

People build relationships with other people, not companies. So write emails on behalf of the brand. This will help create a connection with subscribers.

Mistake #3 Center-align text.

It may look pretty and design rules should do it that way, but you know what?

I don't care about design rules if the text becomes unreadable after being centered.

The solution?

Align the text from left to right (or right to left, if your language requires it). But not in the center, unless it's a headline.

2 expensive mistakes most businesses make

I see many businesses make these mistakes all the time.

Some make both.

Some only the second, but actually two as well.

Let’s move on to mistake número uno…

1. They don’t collect leads.

They created a website with their products and services.

They set up SEO and run paid advertising.

Potential customers come to the site, leave an application, then a manager contacts them and tries to sell.

Successful - good.

No? Moves on to the next request.

What is the problem?

Only a few are ready to leave a request and talk to a manager right now.

The rest come to the site, click on tabs and… leave.

Although you could offer them a lead magnet, get their email and sell a little later.

You’ve already paid for their attention, so it’s not very wise to just let go and lose money.

And even if you put subscription forms on every page and collect their email, it doesn’t make any sense if you make the mistake número dos:

2. Not sending enough emails.

Collecting emails and growing your list is only half the battle.

But if you’re not doing regular newsletters and building relationships with your subscribers, it’s like not building a list.

And even if you have an automatic sequence of 3-5-10 emails, it’s still not enough.

Not for making the necessary number of touches.

Not to build trust with your audience.

You end up having to work only with cold audiences, constantly convincing them and proving why they should buy from you…

But when a person receives from you every week 5-7 emails, he gradually warms up, knows your product, learns, removes his objections.

And when he decides to buy, he no longer chooses among competitors -he comes straight to you.

Because he already knows you, likes you and trusts you.

With such a warm audience, it’s much easier to build a successful business.

Always see a thing through to the end

One of the rules I follow in business is to always see things through to the end.

Even if halfway through, it doesn't seem to be working.

Case in point...

Last week we did a sell-out at a client's business.

The cart was open for seven days.

The strategy was simple: send one email a day for the first 3 days. Then increase the number of emails to two. And on the last day send 4 emails.

On the fifth day of the promo sales were much less than we had planned and expected.

Maybe the audience had not yet recovered from Black Friday and the insane amount of sales in the last month...

Or everyone who wanted the product had already bought it...

I don't know.

But I even thought about stopping the promotion and stopping the newsletter.

But then I remembered my rule to bring things to the end.

There is a plan - I must do it.

And after that I will reflect and reflect.

So I just continued to send emails.

And guess what?

On the last day the dam broke.

We made more sales in just one day than we did in the entire last month with Black Friday.

The breakdown of sales during the promo was 15% in the first six days, and 85% on the last day.

So once again, I've learned that you should always follow the plan and not change it, regardless of the current results.

You can't let your emotions affect your tactics.

Yes, of course, there will be situations where a miracle won't happen.

But at least you'll know you did everything possible to make it happen.

And then you will quietly test the new approach and the hypothesis.

So it goes like this.

Read this if you want to feel good.

On Monday, I celebrated my 35th birthday.

The plan was simple...

Leave the kids at a friend's house and go with my wife to Tulum for the day.

At first, we wanted to go to Mérida, but it's almost 300 km one way.

So we thought we didn't want to spend half a day driving and decided to at least go to Tulum (it's only 60 km there).

At 8 am we unloaded the kids, and at half past ten we were on the beach in Tulum.

We walked on the soft white sand like flour.

Looked at the damn beautiful turquoise sea, which smoothly changes color to deep blue...

It was cloudy and quite cool, which is rare.

Perfect weather for a walk...

And I thought about how we said we would go "at least to Tulum."

At least...

lol, I live in one of the coolest resorts in the world that millions dream of visiting...

And I don't appreciate it.

Although no, actually I do, but much less often than I should.

I think everyone has things we "forget" to appreciate.

Home, family, favorite things...

I'm not going to tell you how important it is to be grateful, how much good it will do and blah blah blah...

Thousands of gurus make money from this, and I won't take their bread.

But if you freeze for a minute right now and think about how many amazing things you already have...

That you already have everything you need to feel happy right now...

You will feel a little better.
