Alhamdulillah…
Byte Brights got 1st place for Pitching Blitz – GENACITY 4.0
For our pitching session, our team (Julia Mahir, Priscilla & myself) presented a project under the theme:
“If You Could Change One Thing About Teaching & Learning, What Would It Be?”
Instead of focusing on content, syllabus or technology only, we decided to explore one simple question:
Are our students actually ready to learn?
Not academically… but emotionally.
From that idea, we came up with MoodCheck,
MoodCheck is an AI-enhanced classroom check-in tool that helps students recognize their emotions and gives teachers a better understanding of classroom readiness before learning begins.
The idea is simple:
- Students check in their mood
- AI gives suitable micro responses
- Teachers get classroom insights in real time
Sepanjang siapkan projek ni, memang banyak discussion, brainstorming dan refining idea supaya solution tu bukan sekadar guna AI sebab nak nampak macam tools yang berteknologi je, tapi betul-betul solve masalah yang mungkin berlaku dalam dunia sebenar.
And honestly… langsung tak expect bila nama Byte Brights diumumkan sebagai pemenang tempat pertama!!
Masa tengok result tu, kami satu group ulang tengok nama sendiri berkali-kali 😂
“Eh betul ke ni?”
“Cuba cek ejaan tu…”
“Tak silap baca ke?”
"Try cek nama group lain, kot-kot ada yg sama.. "(ni la idea yg paling kelakar + biul yg kami buat)
Masing-masing jadi blurrr....
Sampai kami 1 group double check sebab macam susah nak percaya nama group sendiri naik kat tempat pertama.
Rasa tu campur-campur... terkejut, happy, bangga… semua ada sekali.
A very big thank you to Dr Chuah Kee Man for creating this challenge and for all the insights throughout the session. The question looked simple at first, but it really made us think deeper about learning from a different perspective.

Happy bukan hanya sebab dapat first prize je, tapi sebab dapat tengok macam mana satu idea yang asalnya nampak simple, tapi penggunaannya nanti boleh bagi impak kepada dunia teaching & learning.
Because sometimes, improving learning doesn’t start with changing the lesson… it starts with understanding the learner...
