Someone snored way too loud last night.

Consumers are clear with your branding. Whenever they think of XYZ, they think of your product immediately. They see this color, that font and those fancy aesthetics - they spot you easily because again, you have clear and focused brand identity. But when it’s time for you do good or impact communities, suddenly you are doing things randomly and not focused.

One day, your team is helping stray cats and the next, buying new clothes for homeless people but you sell high end pillows? If you plan to stay consistent with your overall branding, please keep your CSR team in the loop. Well here are some possible signature CSR for your pillow brand;

1. Donate pillows to orphans and old folks’ centres - Cliche, but at least it’s relatable to your product, direct marketing.

2. Start “ ” campaign - Organize talks, health checkups, share on the danger of extreme snoring, indirect marketing.

Be known for your cause because it’s definitely more powerful than color, font and aesthetics. Champion the cause and community. So think snoring, think that pillow brand.

Urbins : Sexifying Recycling And Garbage Bins

Back in 2019, we got (almost) everyone in Sarawak talking about garbage bins with Urbins. Not just any bins—15 brightly colored, eye-catching bins that we paraded around the Rainforest World Music Festival in collaboration with Sarawak Tourism Board.

We didn’t just place them randomly around the event site. We put on a show. A literal “runway” for garbage bins—turning something as mundane as recycling into a spectacle people couldn’t ignore. Why? Because if you can’t attract people to recycle, make the bins attractive instead. And it worked. People noticed. They talked. They engaged. That’s the power of creative, attention-grabbing CSR.

Stop Flexing . Start listening.

It’s 2025. So when meeting local communities in villages, don’t throw around terms like SDGs, ESG, or carbon emissions without simplifying them first. Don’t get too caught up in fancy industry jargon—it’s not a flex. Your job isn’t to impress them. It’s to understand them.

Why corporate jargon doesn't work in the real world?

You walk into a village. You sit down with a group of farmers, fishers, or street vendors. They’ve been doing this for decades. They know the land, the sea, and the market better than anyone.

And then, here you come, fresh off a corporate sustainability report, talking about "carbon neutrality goals" and "supply chain resilience." What do those words even mean to them?

The Power Of A Simple Act : KFC Snack Plate Inspired Me To Pay-It-Forward

When I was around 10 years old and my little brother was just 6, we found ourselves at a small shopping center in Kuching (shout out to Wisma Hopoh Kuching). It was a typical Raya shopping season—crowds buzzing, families checking off their festive to-do lists. Our parents, caught up in the chaos of last-minute shopping, asked me to accompany my brother to buy him a KFC snack plate.

But there was one small challenge—I was fasting.

It was Ramadhan, and even at that young age, I took my fasting seriously. So, we went up to the counter, placed our order, and I watched as my brother enjoyed his meal. I sat there, the aroma of crispy fried chicken filling the air, my stomach rumbling just a little, but I knew the drill. Self-control. Discipline. It was part of the experience.

Then, out of nowhere, an Indian couple approached us. Their faces were warm, filled with concern. They had been watching us for a while, and maybe they noticed that only my brother was eating.

"Would you like to order more?" the husband asked.

Throwback to our first short film “Beepavali”, collaborated with amazing partners and talents. In case you’ve missed it, this film is an awareness campaign for World Dyslexia Day that happens on every October. Our campaign direction is always bold and creative with social twist - bold vibrant visuals while highlighting serious, taboo issues.

And for your information, most shots were inspired by “Grand Budapest Hotel” (obviously) and “Euphoria”. Thankfully Sam of Filmco and team fulfilled most of the proposed shots (also some on the spot, last minute 🙃).

There are more than 10 concepts that are yet to be produced and of course they have social elements weaved into the creative storytelling. Like “Mother’s & Father’s day”, Raya, CNY and even for “World Toilet Day” etc. Now we’re kinda looking for the right partners and funders to produce them soon, not asap tho.
