On September, we had the pleasure of participating in Design Biz Fest 2025 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei. It was an incredible experience to showcase our work and engage with fellow creatives, brand owners, and F&B innovators from across the region.

Mad Chilli is the latest F&B brand crafted by seasoned F&B entrepreneurs, designed to capture the Muslim market, particularly mid-income earners (around RM4,000), with a fast table-turn concept. The client's vision was clear: create a restaurant with a low-budget setup to enable rapid expansion across the market.

We were excited about the business idea, trusting both the food quality and the bold vision. Be Good Creative proposed a brand identity that embodies youthfulness, energy, and playfulness, resonating with young urbanites. The brand offers an enticing menu, a welcoming atmosphere, and accessible pricing. Since Pan Mee isn't traditionally common in the Malay community, we infused culturally familiar elements into the design language, such as creating a batik-inspired pattern using chili motifs, making it relatable to their everyday experiences.

To ensure the brand's appeal to its target audience, the image had to be visually striking and share-worthy, helping to generate organic buzz. With our expertise in brand creation, we developed a strategy that met both the client’s market goals and budgetary constraints. We are honored to have earned the client’s trust to bring this vision to life.

Every element of the design language reflects the clear direction agreed upon with the client. The interior design was meticulously planned to stay within budget while ensuring scalability for future growth. The first outlet opened in November 2024 at Berjaya Times Square, and a second location is already in the pipeline, marking the start of an exciting journey for Mad Chilli.

Pre-Opening Inspection

Sun Fong Bak K*t Teh holds a unique spot amongst foodies in Kuala Lumpur. Located on Jalan Imbi since 1971, it serves over 1,000 customers daily and has become a favorite spot for international actors, celebrities, politicians, and tourists alike.

The owner has decided to expand the business by opening their very first flagship store just a short distance away from their existing location. Initially, they briefed us on the idea of a Nanyang Kopitiam style, as Bak K*t Teh is recognized as a signature dish in Nanyang cuisine.

However, we saw it differently and had a different vision.

After conducting research on architectural design and the history of Bak K*t Teh, we proposed the concept using "The Straits" style. This architectural style was introduced to Malaya before World War II, when the region was renowned as a hub for oriental spices and was operated by the East India Company. During this era, many hotels and mansions were built along the shores, blending British colonial and Malayan architectural elements. Examples of this legacy today include the Datai Hotel in Langkawi, E&O Hotel in Georgetown, and the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

We have implemented this architectural style in the flagship Sun Fong Bak K*t Teh, offering a premium yet casual dining experience. It’s a space where customers can enjoy delicious food in a familiar setting, entertain VIP guests, and have plenty of photo-worthy spots for sharing.

Our commitment to the client is clear: they continue to serve their best Bak K*t Teh, and we ensure that this flagship store becomes the Bak K*t Teh landmark in Klang Valley.

Getting Ready to Roll On!

The second independent store of Wonderful Cakehouse is soft launching tomorrow at BMC Mall, Cheras. Established in 1988, the brand has been closely tied to Aeon Jusco for years. To expand its reach and strategically build its future, the owner engaged us to rebrand the brand identity and introduce a new, down-to-earth interior design that resonates with its target audience.

In addition to their signature cakes, tarts, and bakery items, Wonderful Cakehouse is now offering freshly baked puffs and pastries. This new product line has received overwhelming responses at Aeon Kepong, and we’re excited to see how Cheras residents will react. Stay tuned, as we’ll be revealing the location of the third outlet within the next month.

Savouring Cultural Sweetness

Lean's Tongsui marks the debut of a new dessert brand initiated by Nyonya Colors, focusing on desserts from the Cantonese, Nyonya, and Malay communities. Lean's offers heartwarming and nourishing sweet soups to urban dwellers, providing a comforting experience that connects them with tradition. Tongsui, more than just a dessert, holds cultural significance as a form of nourishment tailored to seasonal changes, where the older generation would carefully select ingredients believed to have health benefits.

In today's fast-paced world, economic development has led to the separation of families, with many younger individuals no longer living with their parents, often residing in different cities. After a busy day at work, a warm bowl of Tongsui brings comfort to the often lonely urban lifestyle. Lean's aims to provide urban residents with easy access to this nourishing tradition without the need for long travel, making it a convenient yet meaningful indulgence.

Be Good Creative designed Lean's with a Southeast Asian aesthetic, seamlessly blending the cultural essence of Tongsui with the lifestyle habits of younger generations. We promote the idea that enjoying Tongsui is a modern, stylish choice, breaking away from the fast-food culture by offering products made with genuine, high-quality ingredients while softening the health-conscious image. The interior design embodies a light, fashionable Southeast Asian style, creating a welcoming environment where customers can relax and enjoy delicious drinks and light snacks.

To further enhance the experience, Be Good Creative recommended an open, buffet-style presentation similar to that of a hotel, allowing customers to directly view each pot of Tongsui. This approach emphasizes the traditional, slow-cooked flavors, offering an immersive and satisfying dining experience.

Ten10 Store is a home essentials brand established in East Malaysia. Initially launched as an online store, its well-curated selection of products quickly resonated with the local market. This success led to the decision to expand from online sales to physical stores, allowing customers to experience the brand in person.

Be Good Creative was commissioned to revitalize the brand’s image. Given that the target market is the budget-conscious general public, we aimed to design a brand identity that exudes a down-to-earth appeal. The slogan "Furnish Your Very Own Universe" encapsulates the concept of enabling modern households to create their unique spaces using affordable home essentials.

The logo for Ten10 Store is inspired by optical illusion and three-dimensional graphics. This concept aligns with Ten10 Store's mission of solving space issues, acting like a magician that transforms and amplifies living spaces. The use of this three-dimensional style simplifies the logo, making it easily recognizable.

During the project ex*****on, the client was clear about their long-term vision of expanding Ten10 Store into a chain, making it a representative brand for home essentials in East Malaysia. To support this vision, we developed a range of brand assets to enhance brand recognition and depth.

Iron House Cafe, a Beloved Landmark in Serdang, Available at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Now!

Iron House Cafe began its humble journey in 2015, housed within a cafe made of zinc sheets—a structure that became synonymous with the heart and soul of Serdang.

With its well-preserved recipes and soul-nurturing flavors, Iron House Cafe quickly captured the hearts of locals, thriving in this small town.

Now, the owner has embarked on a bold new venture—the opening of a second branch in Pavilion Bukit Jalil. However, replicating the authentic Chinese village-style ambiance of the original kampung house within a mall presented a unique challenge.

Enter Be Good Creative, entrusted with the task of preserving the soul of Iron House while infusing it with a unique, modern interior rarely seen in shopping malls.

Our role encompassed revamping the brand identity, with the logo designed to mimic the shape of zinc sheets—a nod to the cafe's humble beginnings. Additionally, we curated the menu to showcase the unique dishes to the public and conducted all photography with our desired direction.

Introducing Barkar, the Latest Exquisite Dining Experience in Kuala Lumpur!

Barkar is the brainchild of the award-winning brand Eat & Cook, offering an exclusive dining experience centered around wood-burnt dried-aged meats and a bar with a captivating cave theme.

Engaged by Eat & Cook, Be Good Creative was entrusted with designing the brand concept for Barkar. Setting itself apart from its counterpart, Barkar promises a chic and vibrant ambiance where patrons can gather, mingle, and enjoy an à la carte menu with friends. A highlight of the experience is the unique open-table setting, allowing customers to witness the preparation of their delectable dishes with skill—a spectacle we fondly refer to as the "Orchestra of Feast & Fire."

Drawing inspiration from the most ancient social activity—cooking over an open flame in a cave—Be Good Creative reintroduces this primal element into Barkar's identity. Charcoal wood, red bricks, rough stone textures, and quartz stone accents come together to create a premium aesthetic that harks back to our primal origins.

The interior ex*****on was masterfully handled by Spaceman, another award-winning interior design firm. Since its opening in December 2024, Barkar has garnered rave reviews from foodies near and far, solidifying its status as a must-visit dining destination in Kuala Lumpur.

With a legacy spanning over 35 years, Wonderful Cakehouse has been a beloved fixture within Aeon (formerly known as Jusco). Last year, the brand took a bold step forward by expanding its footprint to various malls across the Klang Valley, marking an important milestone in their journey.

At Wonderful, the brand dedicated to offering awesome cakes at reasonable prices, tailored to suit the diverse tastes of local community.

Be Good Creative was engaged to rejuvenate the Wonderful Cakehouse brand. Through our research and findings, we aimed to reestablish its core values and elevate the overall customer experience. We understand that cakes represent more than just a sweet indulgence—they embody moments of joy, celebration, and unity, accessible to people from all walks of life.

In our efforts to reshape the brand image, we strategically crafted the brand imagery to convey a sense of refined simplicity, affordability, and fun, while maintaining a professional demeanor. The deliberate use of clean, white backgrounds accentuates the vibrancy of our products and evokes a sense of delight and satisfaction, reminiscent of life's simple pleasures.

Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Wonderful Cakehouse at Aeon Metro Prima, with its new complete look and kiosk design. We look forward to further expansion in the future and the opportunity to continue delighting Wonderful's customers with delicious cakes and unforgettable experiences.
