This is HRM Dr. Chinedu Benson Madubuko, OFR, the newly crowned traditional ruler of Adazi-Ani Ancient Kingdom in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Dr. Chinedu Benson Madubuko is a proud son of Ikenga community in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha LGA, Anambra State, born in 1963. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt. Long before ascending the throne of his ancestors, he had already established himself as a successful entrepreneur, industrialist, philanthropist and community leader.
He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of De Chico Investment Limited/De Chico Group, an indigenous business enterprise with major interests in the manufacturing and distribution of building materials, including aluminium profiles, stone-coated roofing sheets, ceiling cladding and other building products. This is where his wealth and influence largely come fromโnot politics, but decades of entrepreneurship, manufacturing, distribution, investment and business development.
Through his philanthropic initiatives, including the Zeph Care Foundation, he has supported education, healthcare, youth empowerment, widows and vulnerable members of society. In 2021, he constructed and inaugurated 16 rural roads in Anambra State, demonstrating a commitment to using private resources for public good.
His influence has also earned him recognition beyond his immediate community. He was honoured with the prestigious Nigerian national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) for his contributions to society and nation-building. He has also received recognition within the business and philanthropic community, including being named The Sun Entrepreneur of the Year.
His emergence as the King followed extensive appeals from members of the community, with prominent sons and leaders repeatedly asking him to accept the responsibility.
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Adazi-Ani stood still as Dr. Chinedu Benson Madubuko was formally crowned Eze Chinechendo I, of Adazi-Ani Ancient Kingdom. It was not merely a ceremony. It was the elevation of a man who had already built a reputation in business, philanthropy and community service into the highest traditional leadership position of his people.
