Let pieces dry for a day or two to prevent rotting.
2. Prepare the Bags:
Choose sturdy bags with good drainage. Add holes if needed.
Fill bags with potting soil and compost mix.

Ginger matures in 8-10 months. Harvest when leaves yellow and die back.
Carefully dig out rhizomes, use fresh or dry for storage.
Tips for Success:
Plant in early spring.
Ensure good drainage to prevent rot.
Maintain consistent soil moisture.
Move bags indoors during winter in colder climates.
By recycling old bags, you create an eco-friendly way to grow ginger at home with minimal effort for a plentiful harvest.

DISEASE IDENTIFICATION FROM DROPPINGS

1. YELLOW AND FOAMING DROPPING: Early stage of Coccidiosis. Remember Embazim Forte for preventative and curative measures.

2. DROPPING WITH BLOOD: Severe Coccidiosis!!! Why wait till it get to that stage??? Well, You need Embazim Forte or Amprolium for fast treatment!!!

3. GEENISH DROPPING: Late stage of worms, New Castle Disease, fowl cholera/typhoid, eaten not well dried feed or eaten a lot of green vegetables if free ranged. Take action depending on other clinical signs shown and don't forget to give Lasota vaccine to prevent Newcastle Disease!

TURKEY FARMING TIPS
What It Takes To Start A Turkey Farming Business
turkey farming is one of the unique business ideas you can venture into.

Turkey are very good scavengers consuming earthworms, small insects, snails, kitchen waste and termites.

“Turkeys only need a lot of care when still young. Young poults need to be kept warm by being kept close to a source of heat

Turkeys start laying eggs at six to eight months and this production period is up to 24 weeks from the point of lay. Under proper feeding, a single turkey lays as much as 60-100 eggs annually. Nearly 70 percent of the eggs will be laid in the afternoon. When it comes to hatching, it can hatch as many as 15 at each sitting.

Specifics for breeding and incubating turkeys are quite different from chicken.
It is very challenging when turkeys start laying eggs because they do not want anybody to see them.

The incubation period is 28 days. There are two methods of incubation. Natural incubation with sitting females; naturally turkeys are good brooders and each can hatch 10-15 numbers of eggs. Only clean eggs with good eggshells and shape should be placed for brooding to get 60%-80% hatchability and healthy poults.

Turkeys require particular conditions which are different from those for other poultry birds. First of all, turkeys need a lot of space by virtual of their size.

Specifics for breeding and incubating turkeys are quite different from chicken.

Feeding

start your turkeys on starter mash. Make sure there is plenty of starter mash in the feeders, and that the chicks have fresh clean water at all times. Common varieties of turkeys include broad-breasted bronze and Broad-breasted white.

Feed for turkey poults must contain at least 24 per cent protein (not found in many commercial feeds), 2 per cent calcium and 0.9 per cent phosphorus.

Turkeys require about six square meters per ine

GUINEA FOWL FACTS

1. GUINEAS TRAVEL IN PACKS

They are like a pack of wolves, in terms of sticking together. When we first got our Guineas, they would run around our six acres together. If you saw two, you knew all the others were close by. It looks quite interesting seeing large-sized birds all gathered in one place and running around together. On occasions, they will separate and have two different groups. But they are always with one another. You will not find one standing alone unless it is nesting or injured.

2 – GUINEAS LAY EGGS IN HIGH GRASS

No matter how much you try to create a nesting place for your Guineas, they will avoid it and find a place of their own. I put boards against the house, bought nesting boxes and put them in obscure places and even put hay in a dark corner. They would not use the homes I built for them. Guinea hens are very particular about where they nest. I always find a ton of their eggs in high grass.

3 – GUINEA FOWL EAT A LOT OF BUGS

The reason I bought Guineas is because I met a guy in a feed store who told me that he had fifty Guineas. I said, “Fifty guinea pigs!” He shook his head and laughed. Then, he told me that he had fifty Guinea Fowl and how they clear his acres of bugs in no time.

Since I had just purchased my property and am not fond of bugs at all, I ordered thirty guineas. I often see my Guineas catching moths, crickets, grasshoppers, and creepy crawlers. I have read that their favourite bug is the mite. Since mites are so small, I have not personally seen them eat one; but my dogs seem totally free of mites with my Guineas around.

Did You know? Guineafowls are considered omnivores. This means they will consume plant and animal matter as part of their diet

4 – GUINEA EGGS ARE DELICIOUS
When I first bought my guineas, I did not think about their eggs. I owned Guineas strictly for keeping down the bug population. My husband and I were a little apprehensive about eating Guinea eggs at first because we were new

Uses Of Moringa plant and how to use it in Poultry Farming.

Moringa plant, also known as the drumstick tree, is a highly nutritious plant that can be used in various ways in poultry farming. Here are some of its uses and how to use it:

Feed supplement: Moringa leaves are rich in essential nutrients, including protein, vitamins, and minerals, that are beneficial to poultry health and productivity. You can dry the leaves and grind them into a powder, which can then be added to your poultry feed to supplement their nutrition.

Immune booster: Moringa leaves contain natural antioxidants, which help boost the immune system of poultry birds, making them more resistant to diseases and infections.

Antibacterial agent: Moringa leaves contain antibacterial compounds that can help prevent and control bacterial infections in poultry. Adding moringa powder to the feed can help reduce the incidence of diseases such as coccidiosis and salmonellosis.

Growth promoter: Moringa leaves also contain growth-promoting compounds, which can help improve the growth rate and weight gain of poultry birds, making them more marketable.

To use moringa in poultry farming, you can follow these steps:

Harvest fresh moringa leaves and wash them thoroughly.

Dry the leaves in the shade until they are dry and crisp.

Grind the dried leaves into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle or a grinder.

Mix the moringa powder into your poultry feed, at a ratio of 2-5% of the total feed, depending on the age and weight of the birds.

Store the moringa powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
