This is what “content creation” actually looks like sometimes 😂

No studio. No fancy equipment. No perfectly planned shoot.

Just me, my phone, and 30 seconds to catch the moment before it’s gone.

Do you need better gear? Yes, it helps.

But the posts that actually connects come from noticing the moment.

You can’t plan real life. You can only be present enough to catch it.

What’s the last thing you filmed on your phone
that performed way better than expected? 👇

A lot of businesses use “marketing” and “advertising” like they’re the same thing. But they are really not.

Advertising is one part of marketing.

Advertising is paying to put your message in front of people. Marketing is everything that helps create the decision to buy.

Your:

→ Product
→ Pricing
→ Positioning
→ Packaging
→ Customer experience
→ Content
→ Distribution
→ Offers
→ Advertising

…all play a role.

Think about it this way: You can spend ₦500,000 getting people to see your business.

But if the product isn’t right, the offer isn’t compelling, the price doesn’t make sense, or the buying experience is frustrating, the advertising hasn’t solved your problem.

You’ve simply paid to introduce more people to it. 😂

Advertising gets attention. Marketing gives that attention somewhere to go.

That’s why “let’s run ads” shouldn’t always be the first marketing conversation.

There’s a big difference between explaining what you sell and giving someone a reason to want it.

“Made with soy wax” tells me something about the candle.

But it doesn’t tell me why I should care.

Keep asking “So what?” until you get from the product to the customer’s life.

That’s the part worth putting in your marketing.

Good content is not the same thing as good marketing.

A post can get attention and still leave people with no idea what to do next.

They watched it. They liked it. Maybe they even followed you.

But do they understand your brand Do they trust you? Do they know what you actually offer?

That’s the gap.

Content gets people through the door. Marketing gives them a reason to stay.

What happens after someone discovers your brand?

07/08/2026

Marketing isn’t just the content you post. It’s also the experience people have with your business.

A quick reply says, “We value your time.”

A confusing website says, “You’ll have to figure it out yourself.”

A thoughtful follow-up says, “We care.”

Every interaction is shaping your reputation, whether you planned it or not.

So before you think about your next campaign, think about your customer’s next experience.

If someone interacted with your business today, what would they learn about you?

I don’t think enough people talk about why Duolingo’s marketing works.

It’s not because the owl is funny. It’s because the brand has a personality.

Every notification sounds like it came from the same character. Every post feels unmistakably Duolingo. Even when they’re joking, they’re still reinforcing who they are.

That’s what makes them memorable.

Your audience shouldn’t have to see your logo to know it’s you.

They should recognize your voice, your style, and the feeling your content gives them.

That’s what branding looks like.

What brand immediately comes to mind when you think of great marketing? 👇

Everyone thinks brands sponsor BBNaija for the ads.

I think they’re paying for something much bigger: a place in your memory.

Once you notice it, you’ll never watch sponsorships the same way again.

What’s another marketing strategy people misunderstand? 👇

30/07/2026

Marketing isn’t just about getting people’s attention.

It’s about staying in their memory.

When someone needs a product or service, they rarely start from scratch. They think of the brands they’ve seen consistently over time.

Every post, every interaction, and every message is another opportunity to become memorable.

The question is: Would people remember your brand when it matters most?

27/07/2026

Every piece of content competes for attention.

So before you publish anything, ask yourself: “Why should my audience care?”

If you can’t answer that in one sentence, it’s worth revisiting your message.

People don’t just care about what happened but they care about how it affects them.
