MACA International Film Festival Founder Amb Nyam Terkimbi Terry and Team Pay Courtesy Visit to CEO, Eco Traffic

The Founder of MACA International Film Festival and members of the festival team paid a courtesy visit to the CEO of Eco Traffic in appreciation for the organization’s support during the 2nd Edition of the MACA International Film Festival.

The visit was to formally acknowledge Eco Traffic’s contributions and partnership that helped make the second edition a success. The delegation expressed gratitude for Eco Traffic’s commitment to promoting arts, culture, and youth engagement through the festival.

Speaking during the visit, the Founder of MACA International Film Festival commended Eco Traffic for believing in the vision of the festival and for supporting initiatives that spotlight talent, creativity, and storytelling in Africa and beyond.

“We deeply appreciate Eco Traffic’s support through the second edition of MACA International Film Festival. Your partnership played a key role in elevating the experience for filmmakers, artists, and audiences. We look forward to stronger collaborations in the years ahead,” the Founder stated.

MIFF Team Also Announces New Partnerships and 30 Scholarships for Benue Filmmakers

Makurdi, Benue State – Thursday, 6th August 2026 – The Management Team of the MACA International Film Festival, MIFF, paid a courtesy and appreciation visit to Dr. Terseer Mzuulga, Ph.D, Director-General of Radio Benue, in recognition of the station’s pivotal role in the success of MIFF 2.0.

The visit took place at the Radio Benue Headquarters, Makurdi, to formally appreciate the organization for its invaluable media support and publicity during the successful hosting of MIFF 2.0, held from 27th – 31st July 2026 in Makurdi.

During the visit, Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry, Founder of MACA International Film Festival, G-Films Academy, Benue Creative Summit and MIFF TV, commended Radio Benue for its massive coverage which contributed immensely to public awareness, participation, and the overall success of the 5-day festival.

In response, Dr. Terseer Mzuulga expressed gratitude to the MIFF team and Gafiligadoki Communication for the recognition. He reaffirmed Radio Benue’s commitment to supporting creative and cultural initiatives in Benue State and pledged continued collaboration for future editions of the festival.

Amb. Terry also proposed a strategic partnership between Radio Benue and G-Films Academy as admissions commence in September 2026, to enhance training in broadcasting, voice-over, and media production.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS & FUTURE PLANS

Speaking during the engagement, Amb. Terry outlined the structured training programs of G-Films Academy and reiterated the urgent need for a Film Village and a World-Class Acoustic Studio in Benue State to drive the growth of the creative economy.

He further announced that out of 300 applicants, 30 filmmakers have been awarded full scholarships to be mentored by G-Films Academy in:
Screenwriting, Acting, Video Editing, Broadcasting, Voice-Over, Makeup, and other key areas of filmmaking.

An Award of Appreciation was also presented to Mr. Henry Ipole for his outstanding contribution to the success of the Benue Creative Summit and MACA International Film Festival 2.0.

Dr. Mzuulga applauded Amb. Terry and the MIFF team for their impact on the creative industry in Benue State. He encouraged them to sustain the momentum, noting that their work aligns with the vision of the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

The visit was to formally appreciate the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Benue State Branch for their invaluable support and partnership during the successful hosting of MIFF 2.0, held from 27th – 31st July 2026 in Makurdi.

During the visit, Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry, Founder of MACA International Film Festival, G-Films Academy, Benue Creative Summit, and MIFF TV, presented Mr. Anthony Abah with an Award of Honor on behalf of the Red Cross.

MIFF FOUNDER AND TEAM PAY COURTESY VISIT TO DG BENUE BUREAU FOR ARTS, CULTURE AND TOURISM

Makurdi, Benue State – The Founder of the MACA International Film Festival MIFF and CEO of Gafiligadoki Communications, Amb. Nyam Terkimbi Terry, alongside members of the MIFF team, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Shadrach Teryila Ukuma, Director General of the Benue Bureau for Arts, Culture and Tourism, in the early hours of today, 6th August 2026.

The visit was in appreciation of Dr. Ukuma’s immense contribution and support towards the successful hosting of MIFF 2.0, which held from 27th – 31st July 2026 in Makurdi.

During the visit, the team formally presented Dr. Ukuma with an Award of Honor in recognition of his leadership, commitment, and efforts in ensuring that the entertainment and creative industry in Benue State gains higher ground.

Speaking during the visit, Amb. Terry described Dr. Ukuma as a visionary leader whose support gave the festival credibility and helped position Benue as a growing hub for film and creative enterprise in Nigeria.

He noted that the theme of MIFF 2.0, “Filmmaking as a Tool for Change”, was actualized through the partnership with the Bureau, resulting in the training of 30 beneficiaries through the G-Films Academy Scholarship and the establishment of new industry collaborations.

In his response, Dr. Shadrach Teryila Ukuma expressed gratitude to the MIFF team and reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote culture, tourism, youth empowerment, and economic development in Benue State.

He assured the team of continued partnership as preparations begin for MIFF 3.0.
And the opening of G-Films Academy this September in Makurdi.

The courtesy visit ended with discussions on future collaborations between the Benue Bureau for Arts, Culture and Tourism and Gafiligadoki Communications to further strengthen the creative ecosystem in the state.

"UNSEEN HEROES” WINS BIG AT MACA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2.0

Film by Eunice Gift Oko clinches 3 awards, Director Paul Apel Papel named Best Male Director

Makurdi, Benue State – July 31st, 2026 – “Unseen Heroes”, produced by Eunice Gift Oko, was one of the standout films at the just-concluded MACA International Film Festival 2.0 (MIFF 2.0), winning 4 major awards.

The film received:
1. MACA Viewers’ Choice Award - MVCA
2. Best Film by a First-Time Producer
3. Best Short Film

In addition, Paul Apel Papel, popularly known as Papel, a Nigerian filmmaker and director, was honored with the award for Best Male Director for his work on “Unseen Heroes.”

“Unseen Heroes” tells a gripping story about the Military that highlights everyday courage and sacrifice, and it resonated strongly with both audiences and jurors at the festival.

Speaking after the awards, producer Eunice Gift Oko expressed gratitude to the cast, crew, and MIFF organizers for the opportunity to showcase new talents.
Director Paul Apel Papel also thanked the festival for recognizing excellence and for its commitment to growing the creative industry in the region.

The MACA International Film Festival 2.0, themed “Filmmaking as a Tool for Change”, was held at the Exodus Cinema Makurdi, J.S. Tarka Foundation and Eco Traffic Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
