The #1 crypto mistake beginners make — I see it every single day.

I want to talk about something I see constantly in the crypto world.

And it costs people real money, real stress, and real regret.

The mistake is this: investing based on fear of missing out.

FOMO Fear Of Missing Out is the engine that drives most bad crypto decisions.

A coin goes up 300% in a week. Everyone online is talking about it. Your friend made money. You feel left behind.

So you buy.

At the top.

Just as the early buyers are selling their profits to you.

The price drops. You panic. You sell at a loss.

They made money. You lost money. The cycle continues.

FOMO is not a strategy. It is a trap.

And the crypto market is specifically designed — by human psychology — to trigger it constantly.

Here is the antidote:

Decide your strategy before the market moves.
Set the amount you are comfortable investing.
Choose the assets you have actually researched.
Buy consistently over time — not all at once during hype cycles.
Ignore what everyone online is saying their coin will do next week.

The people who build real wealth in crypto are boring.

They buy, they hold, they do not check the price 40 times a day, and they do not chase pumps.

Be boring.

Have you ever made a FOMO buy in crypto — or anything else? What happened?

Web3 is coming whether you are ready or not. Here is what that means for you.

You may have heard the term Web3 and wondered what it actually means.

Let me break it down simply.

Web1 was the early internet read-only. You could visit websites but not really interact with them.

Web2 is the internet we use today — read and write. You can create content, post on social media, shop online. But the platforms own your data, your followers, your content. Instagram owns your audience. Spotify owns your listening history. YouTube can delete your channel tomorrow.

Web3 is the next phase — read, write, and own. The idea is that you control your own data, your own digital assets, and your own online identity. No platform can take that from you.

In practice, Web3 is still being built. It is messy, complicated, and full of speculation.

But the core idea — giving individuals ownership and control over their digital lives — is powerful. And it is attracting serious money and serious talent.

Why does this matter for your money?

Because the shift from Web2 to Web3 is likely to create enormous value — and enormous disruption
over the next decade.

Understanding it early puts you in a position to make informed decisions when the opportunities become clear.

You do not need to invest in Web3 today.

But you absolutely should understand what it is.

What is a blockchain and why does it matter for your money?

You keep hearing the word blockchain.

Let me explain it in a way that actually makes sense.

Imagine a notebook that records every financial transaction ever made.

Now imagine that notebook is not stored in one place it is copied across thousands of computers around the world simultaneously.

Every time a new transaction is added, all those computers update at the same time.

And here is the key part: no single person, company, or government controls that notebook. Nobody can go in and change a past entry. The record is permanent and transparent.

That is a blockchain.

Now why does it matter for your money?

Because it enables financial transactions without middlemen.

No bank needed to verify the transfer.
No clearinghouse needed to process the payment.
No waiting three business days for funds to settle.

Transactions happen directly between parties, recorded permanently, visible to anyone.

This technology is already being used beyond just crypto:

→ Supply chain tracking
→ Medical record management
→ Voting systems
→ Property ownership records
→ Cross-border payments

Whether or not you ever own a single coin, blockchain technology is going to affect how money and ownership work in your lifetime.

Understanding it puts you ahead of the majority of people who hear the word and switch off.

Before today, could you have explained what a blockchain is? Honest answers only.

Is crypto still worth it in 2025? Here is my honest answer.

People ask me this a lot. And I am going to give you an honest answer not a hyped one.

Crypto is not a guaranteed path to wealth.

It never was.

But it is a legitimate asset class that has produced real returns for people who approached it with discipline, patience, and a long-term view.

Here is where I stand in 2025:

Bitcoin has matured significantly. Institutional money has entered. ETFs now exist in major markets. It is harder to argue that Bitcoin is going away.

Ethereum continues to power a large portion of decentralised applications. Its long-term utility case is real.

Beyond those two the risk increases dramatically. Most altcoins fail. Many are scams. A few become genuine innovations.

My honest position:

Crypto can be a small, intentional part of a diversified wealth strategy.

Not the whole strategy. A part of it.

For most beginners, a 5% to 10% allocation of your investable assets in crypto is a reasonable range to explore after you have an emergency fund and have started investing in more stable assets.

Is it worth it? That depends entirely on how you approach it.

Approached recklessly no.
Approached with discipline possibly yes.

3 things to know before you buy your first crypto.

If you are thinking about buying crypto for the first time, stop.

Not forever. Just long enough to read this first.

Here are the three things I wish someone had told me before I made my first purchase:

1. Only invest what you can genuinely afford to lose.
Not what you think you can afford. What you could lose completely and still pay your rent, feed your family, and sleep at night. Crypto is volatile. Prices can drop 50% or more in weeks. If that would devastate you that is your answer on how much to invest.

2. Understand what you are buying before you buy it.
Why does this coin exist? What problem does it solve? Who is building it? If you cannot answer these questions, you are not investing you are gambling on a ticker symbol. At minimum, start with Bitcoin or Ethereum the two with the longest track records and most widespread use.

3. Control your own keys or understand the risk if you do not.
When you buy crypto on an exchange and leave it there, the exchange holds your crypto. If the exchange collapses as some have your funds can disappear. "Not your keys, not your coins" is a phrase in crypto for a reason. Learn what it means.

These three things will not guarantee you make money.

But they will help make sure that crypto win or lose does not hurt you in ways you cannot recover from.

Did you know all three of these before buying crypto? Drop YES, NO, or PARTIALLY below.

The difference between speculating and investing in crypto.

This is one of the most important distinctions in the crypto world and almost nobody talks about it.

Speculating means buying something hoping the price goes up without a strong reason to believe it will, and without a plan if it does not.

Investing means buying something based on research, with a clear understanding of the risk, an amount you can afford to lose, and a strategy for managing your position.

Most people who "invest" in crypto are actually speculating.

They buy a coin because it is trending.
They have no idea what the project actually does.
They have no target price to take profit.
They have no plan for if it drops.

That is not investing. That is hope with a price tag.

True crypto investing looks like this:

→ You understand the project what problem it solves and why it matters.
→ You allocate a percentage of your portfolio you are comfortable losing entirely.
→ You set rules in advance: when to take profit, when to cut losses.
→ You do not check the price every hour.
→ You think in years, not days.

The crypto market will always have speculators.

The people who build real wealth from it are the ones who invest instead.

Save this. Read it before your next crypto purchase.

Are you currently speculating or investing in crypto? Be honest with yourself.

I lost money in crypto. Here is what I learned so you do not have to.

I am going to be completely honest with you today.

I have lost money in crypto.

Not because the technology is a scam.
Not because it does not work.

Because I made the classic mistakes that nearly every beginner makes.

Mistake 1: I bought because of hype, not understanding.
A coin was trending. Everyone was talking about it. I bought near the top. The hype faded. The price crashed. I sold at a loss.

Mistake 2: I invested more than I could afford to lose.
When your investment is money you genuinely need, every price drop feels catastrophic. Fear drives bad decisions. I made several.

Mistake 3: I had no exit plan.
I did not decide in advance when I would take profits or cut losses. So I just held and watched gains disappear.

Mistake 4: I trusted strangers online.
Someone in a group chat recommended a coin. It turned out to be a pump-and-dump. I learned what that meant the expensive way.

Here is what I know now:

Crypto can be part of a smart financial strategy — but only when you approach it like an investor, not a gambler.

Know what you are buying and why.
Only invest what you can afford to lose completely.
Have a plan before you buy.
Never take tips from anonymous strangers.

I paid for these lessons. You do not have to.

Which of these mistakes have you made or nearly made? Be honest.

What is Bitcoin, actually? I will explain it like you are 12.

Most explanations of Bitcoin are either too technical or too hyped.

Let me try a different way.

Right now, if you want to send money to someone in another country, you go through a bank.

The bank is the middleman. It checks the transaction, approves it, takes a fee, and moves the money sometimes taking days to do it.

Bitcoin removes the middleman.

It is a form of digital money that runs on a network of computers around the world — not controlled by any bank, government, or company.

Transactions are recorded on something called a blockchain a public, permanent record that anyone can see but nobody can secretly change.

There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoins in existence. That limit is built into the code. Nobody can print more.

This is different from regular currency, where governments can print as much as they want which is one reason some people see Bitcoin as a store of value, like digital gold.

Is it perfect? No.
Is it volatile? Absolutely.
Is it going away? Probably not.

Bitcoin is 15 years old and has survived every crash, ban attempt, and "death" that has been thrown at it.

Understanding it even at a basic level is becoming a form of financial literacy.

Crypto is not dead. But 90% of people are approaching it completely wrong.

Every few months the headlines say the same thing:

"Crypto is dead."

And every time, it turns out not to be.

Bitcoin has been declared dead over 400 times since it was created.

It is still here.

But here is the real problem it is not whether crypto is alive or dead.

It is how most people approach it.

Most people do one of two things:

They ignore crypto entirely because it seems too risky, too complicated, or too associated with scams.

Or they rush in chasing the latest coin they saw trending online, invest more than they can afford to lose, and panic when the price drops.

Both approaches are wrong.

The right approach is somewhere in the middle:

Understand what crypto actually is.
Learn how it fits or does not fit into a broader wealth strategy.
Make informed, sized decisions based on your own financial situation.

That is what I am going to help you do over the next few posts.

No hype. No fear. Just honest, clear education.

Follow along.
