BWSO Pledges Modern Operational Shade, Registration for Nail Cutters Association in Bauchi
Bauchi- The Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO), in continuation of its strategic empowerment initiatives targeted at vulnerable groups and grassroots entrepreneurs, has pledged to construct a befitting operational shade for members of the Association of Nail Cutters of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, to enhance their operations in line with global best practices.
The organisation also announced plans to facilitate the registration of the association with relevant government agencies and regulatory bodies to provide it with legal recognition, improved visibility and greater access to opportunities within the informal business sector.
The Chief Executive Officer of BWSO, Arch. Mukhtar Ahmed Jarmajo, made the disclosure when he led the management and staff of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the office of the Association of Nail Cutters of Nigeria, Bauchi State Council, along Gombe Road in Bauchi metropolis.
Arch. Jarmajo revealed that BWSO would also empower a physically challenged individual with Point of Sale (POS) business startup capital and attach the beneficiary to the nail cutters’ association to facilitate seamless digital transactions between members and their customers.
According to him, the proposed shade would not only provide a conducive working environment for practitioners but also serve as a strategic and easily identifiable location where customers can conveniently access nail cutting services.
He further urged members of the association to take advantage of the free internet connectivity (WiFi) provided around the area by Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti to digitise their services, improve customer engagement and increase profitability.
Arch. Jarmajo noted that the intervention reflects the commitment of Dr. Bala Wunti towards inclusive development, youth empowerment and the promotion of small-scale enterprises capable of creating sustainable livelihoods across communities.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chief of Operations of BWSO, Alh. Ladan Salihu Kangere, explained that the organisation was established with a clear mandate to support women and youth empowerment, community development initiatives, humanitarian services and leadership training programmes aimed at building responsible citizens.
Kangere added that BWSO remains committed to identifying and supporting overlooked but economically viable informal sector groups whose contributions are vital to local economic growth and social stability.
He stressed that empowering artisans and vulnerable groups with modern tools, digital access and business support mechanisms would significantly reduce poverty, unemployment and social dependency within communities.
The Chief of Operations further stated that the organisation would continue to partner with community-based associations to promote entrepreneurship, self-reliance and dignity of labour among youths and disadvantaged persons across Bauchi State.
It would be recalled that BWSO recently launched a N40 million empowerment programme for persons living with disabilities in Katagum Zone. The initiative is designed to provide POS startup capital to beneficiaries to help them become self-reliant and discourage street begging.
Responding on behalf of the association, the Bauchi State Chairman of the Association of Nail Cutters of Nigeria, Mal. Abubakar Yahaya, commended Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti for his consistent support towards empowering small business owners, artisans and vulnerable groups over the years.
Yahaya described the intervention as timely and transformative, noting that many members of the association had operated for years without proper shelter, recognition or institutional support.
He stated that the proposed operational shade and registration support would greatly improve the image of the profession, enhance public trust, and create a more organised working system for members across the state.
The chairman further assured BWSO that members of the association would make judicious use of the opportunities provided to improve their businesses and render more efficient services to the public.
He also pledged the association’s readiness to embrace digital innovations and modern business practices introduced through the partnership with BWSO, describing the initiative as a new chapter of hope and economic inclusion for members.
