Man, by nature, is a capitalist.
Guess what?
You can take advantage of the fact that a certain market is undergoing some restructuring and shops are being relocated, to buy things at cheaper rates since many sellers will be looking for ways to dispose or reduce the stock of goods in their possession for ease of relocation. I am talking about Ika Ika Oqua (Marian market) in Calabar.

About sachet water: Since they started selling at 50 Naira per sachet and 100 Naira for three sachets, the economist in me would not let me buy one. I would always buy three, even when I could barely finish one, and give out the remaining two.

Don't go grocery shopping on Saturdays; do it on a weekday. A lot of people shop on Saturdays, and sellers expect to make a lot of money from the lot by raising their prices.

It is amazing how much of a difference a small pedestrian bridge can make. On the left side of the Ika Ika Qua Market, goods (especially food stuffs) are sold at cheaper prices than on the right side.
