How Do You Know the Right Inverter Size?

Don’t guess your inverter size. Start with your total power load.
For example:

📺 TV — 100W
🧊 Fridge — 180W
❄️ Freezer — 200W
💡 6 bulbs — 60W
🌀 Fan — 80W

Total load = 620W

Add about 30% extra capacity for surges and future expansion:
620W × 1.3 = 806W

Since inverters are commonly rated in VA:
806W ÷ 0.8 ≈ 1,008VA

👉 A 1kVA inverter would be a suitable starting point for this example, provided its surge capacity can handle the appliances.

But remember: the right inverter also depends on your battery voltage, appliance starting loads, and future energy needs.
