Ten days to an election. A frozen state account. And a constitutional standoff.

The EFCC directed First Bank to place a post-no-debit restriction on Osun State's statutory allocation account, citing suspicious movement of N11 billion in ecology and intervention funds since August 2. NBA President Afam Osigwe warned that freezing a state government's account without a court order could paralyse governance and amounts to an abuse of power. The Osun State Government has vowed to seek judicial redress.
