Gombe State RAAMP Conducts Training on Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) Implementation.

Gombe State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has successfully organized a comprehensive training program on the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and other relevant management frameworks. The training, held as part of the preparatory activities for the upgrading of 5 rural roads across Kwami, Funakaye and Yamaltu-Deba LGAs, was aimed at ensuring sustainable and effective project ex*****on while addressing environmental and social concerns.

The program targeted key stakeholders, including the Grievance Redress Committee, Resettlement Implementation Committee, contractors, and supervising consultants. The participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to implement the ESMP, resolve grievances, and ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards during the construction phase of the project.

Speaking at the event, the Project Coordinator Engr. Salisu Abdullahi emphasized the importance of aligning infrastructure development with best practices to minimize environmental impacts and promote social inclusion. "This training is critical to achieving the dual goals of sustainable development and improved rural access. The active involvement of all stakeholders ensures transparency, accountability, and the effective resolution of any grievances that may arise."
The roads when constructed will not only enhance rural connectivity but also boost agricultural marketing, reduce travel time, and improve livelihoods for communities across Gombe State. RAAMP remains committed to delivering high-quality, environmentally responsible, and socially inclusive infrastructure projects.
