JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the overall success of the hotel, meeting or exceeding planned objectives for
revenue and profit, and ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met.
Supervises all areas of the hotel in accordance with the hotel standards to achieve a friendly
atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality. Provides exemplary performance for
staff to follow.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Be readily available/approachable for all guests while extending professionalism and
courtesy at all times including taking proactive approaches when dealing with guest
concerns.
Ensure that departments achieve or exceed guest’s service expectations.
Ensure company standards for housekeeping, decor and guest services are met
Inspect the grounds, public areas and guest rooms for appearance and cleanliness
Promote teamwork and morale amongst staff while communicating the business goals and
objectives.
Lead by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
Motivate and encourage staff to solve guest and associate related concerns.
Monitor staff performance, ensuring the hotel is running well and guests are happy
Conduct monthly meetings with staff and provide service training as and when needed.
Ensure orientations for new team members are thorough and completed in a timely fashion.
Perform other administrative tasks as requested by management
SKILLS
You'll need to have:
Excellent customer service skills as well as a business mind set
A friendly personality, with a genuine desire to assist guests
Good numeracy, organisational and leadership skills
Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
Reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
Outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of MS Office
QUALIFICATIONS
Although this area of work is open to all graduates and those with an HND, a degree in the following
subjects may increase your chances:
Business or management
Hotel and hospitality management
Travel, tourism or leisure studies.
