Stop using pre-set target interests for ads if you don’t fully understand the audience and business you’re advertising for.
Here’s an example from last month.
A real estate professional approached me, requesting I set up her ad account with different target interests so that whenever she wanted to run an ad, she could simply pick one and launch it easily.
I turned down her request, and here's why:
In the real estate business, there are various types of properties, each catering to specific needs.
For example, some properties are designed for residential use, while others are intended for commercial purposes.
These two categories of properties have entirely different target audiences.
Imagine setting up an ad with interests tailored for residential properties and then using that same targeting for a commercial property ad.
It wouldn’t work.
The interests and preferences of people looking for a home are vastly different from those seeking office spaces or warehouses. The result would be poor ad performance, wasted money, and minimal leads.
Before setting up any ad, you must take the time to understand the unique audience for each type of property.
This includes knowing their pain points, motivations, and how they make purchasing decisions. Residential buyers might be more concerned with things like proximity to schools or community safety, while commercial buyers are focused on things like traffic, accessibility, and business growth opportunities.
Instead of relying on blanket targeting strategies, you need a more customized approach for each type of property you’re advertising.
Always analyze the specifics of the property and the type of buyer you want to attract before setting up any ad.
This ensures your ads resonate with the right audience, leading to better engagement, higher-quality leads, and improved conversion rates.
