This is very true... Most people don't understand that they need to learn ads creative creation... And now Ai apps have made things worse... People don't want to learn the right skills anymore
ARE YOU AWARE THAT MESSAGING HAS REPLACED TARGETING IN META ADS?
Before now, we focused heavily on who we were targeting with our ads.
We considered things like:
Age, Gender, Location, Interests, Job title, and Behaviours.
You could say:
Show this ad to women in Lagos, age 25 to 35, who like business and fashion.
That was old style targeting.
But now, Meta algorithm is very strong and intelligent. AI is maaaaad now. It can find the right people for you even when your targeting is broad.
So instead of worrying too much about who you select, you now focus more on:
- What are you saying?
- How are you saying it?
- Who does the message attract naturally?
That is what it means when we say messaging has replaced targeting.
Your message now does the filtering.
If your ad says:
“This is for stay at home mums who want to earn with digital skills”
Even if you target broadly, the Algorithm will take it to the right people.
The content itself attracts the right audience with the new Meta AI super powers.
The only targeting I still recommend is location, age and gender.
Asides those, we should keep our ads broad enough to reach more people and allow the AI find our own people for us.
All those interests behaviors ans job titles, I dont bother. The AI is smart enough to handle those.
As your ads are running, the super intelligent AI is studying:
- Who is clicking
- Who is watching
- Who is buying
And it shows your ad more to similar people, and you get more and more sales.
Messaging, is therefore the new targeting.
