🌿 GROWING IN FAITH — 22nd September 2026
WHEN APPEARANCE HIDES THE HEART
Theme: God Sees Beyond What We Present
📖 Ezekiel 23:40–42 (KJV)
40 And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thine eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,
41 And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.
42 And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
💡 TODAY’S LESSON
This passage shows people putting great effort into their outward appearance while their hearts were moving in the wrong direction.
Looking beautiful or presentable is not the problem. The danger is when we become more concerned about how people see us than how God sees us.
We can dress well, speak well, attend church, pray and appear devoted, yet still allow wrong desires and misplaced priorities to control our hearts.
God looks beyond the outward appearance. He desires sincerity, obedience and a heart that truly belongs to Him.
Let your outward appearance never become a cover for an inward life that has drifted away from God.
🙏 PRAYER
Father, search my heart and remove everything that competes with You. Let my private life honour You as much as my public life. Help me live sincerely before You. In Jesus name. Amen.

❤️ REFLECTION
Am I more concerned about how people see me, or about how God sees my heart?
🌿 Let your life be beautiful before God, not just before people.
