I have read about the court-ordered detention of an individual known as B-Lord, and I must say this clearly that no one should celebrate the incarceration of any person under the color of law.
I have reached out to my astute rights lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, urging him to disengage from the process.
We must all agree that sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. Rather, it risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens.
Justice must never be reduced to punishment for its own sake. I will work to ensure this case is discontinued and B-Lord is released without further delay - Sowore.

“Iyabo Ojo Please I am Sorry, Forgive me, I previously brought Seun Egbegbe on the same show after he was released from prison, and he received encouragement from people some even gifted him. I thought that would be the same situation in this case.

Also, do not forget that the man in question is my senior colleague. He is one of the people who encouraged me while I was coming up in the industry, so I was not in a position to emmbbarrass him on my show. I simply did my part as an interviewer, and I did not know it would trigger people’s anngger.

To everyone who feels offended, I am truly sorry. I do not agree with what he has done. I honestly thought he would apologize. It is not my place to dictate what he should say. I am deeply sorry” — Biola Adebayo ap0logy🙏

Tinubu, King Charles Hail Nigeria–UK Ties, Pledge Deeper Partnership at State Banquet

By Amieyeofori Ibim, Managing Editor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and King Charles III have reaffirmed the enduring relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, pledging stronger cooperation in trade, security, and cultural exchange during a state banquet at Windsor Castle.

Speaking at the historic event on Wednesday, President Tinubu described the Nigeria–UK relationship as one rooted in shared history, democratic values, and a common vision for progress, expressing confidence that the bilateral friendship “will continue to grow.”

The Nigerian leader, who is on a state visit to the UK—the first by a Nigerian president in 37 years—highlighted the deep institutional and cultural ties binding both nations, noting that Nigeria’s legal, parliamentary, and civil service systems draw significantly from British traditions.

He traced these foundations to historic milestones such as the Magna Carta and the works of influential thinkers like John Locke and Thomas Hobbes, whose ideas helped shape modern democratic governance.

Tinubu also underscored the role of Nigerians in the UK, describing the diaspora as a vital bridge between both countries. He noted their contributions across sectors, particularly in healthcare, where Nigerian professionals form a significant part of the workforce in the National Health Service.

He further pointed to shared cultural connections, citing prominent athletes of Nigerian heritage such as Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, and Anthony Joshua as symbols of the strong human links between both nations.

On security, the President emphasised Nigeria’s role in maintaining stability in West Africa, particularly in tackling terrorism linked to the Sahel region, stressing the importance of continued collaboration with the UK.

Tinubu also expressed gratitude to Britain for its support during Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle, recalling his personal experience of exile and protection in the UK during military rule.

In his remarks, King Charles III praised Nigeria’s growing global influence, describing it as an “economic powerhouse, cultural force, and influential diplomatic voice,” while commending the contributions of Nigerians living in Britain.

The monarch said people of Nigerian heritage are now “at the heart of British life,” excelling in sectors ranging from business and technology to law, academia, sports, and the arts.

He highlighted the cultural impact of Nigeria on the UK, referencing the global rise of Afrobeats music and Nollywood films, as well as the presence of Nigerian talents in the English Premier League and other national institutions.

King Charles also noted the strong economic ties between both countries, revealing that Nigeria recently emerged as the UK’s largest export market in Africa, with growing investments spanning finance, education, technology, and infrastructure.

According to him, Nigerian banks and companies are increasingly establishing a presence in London, while UK-backed initiatives are supporting key development projects in Nigeria, including port infrastructure.

The British monarch acknowledged the complexities of the shared colonial history between both nations, admitting that some aspects left “painful marks,” but stressed the importance of learning from the past to build a future anchored on mutual respect and cooperation.

He further emphasised the role of the Commonwealth of Nations as a platform for shared growth, urging deeper collaboration among member states to boost trade, investment, and development.

Both leaders also highlighted the importance of religious tolerance and social cohesion, referencing interfaith engagements during the visit as a model for peaceful coexistence.

The banquet, attended by senior members of the British Royal Family including Prince William and Catherine Princess of Wales, underscored renewed diplomatic momentum between Nigeria and the UK.

The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, with high-level talks scheduled between President Tinubu and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer focusing on security, trade expansion, and investment partnerships.
