Crop Production in Nigeria suffers from poor infrastructure in terms of storage facilities hence the increase in post harvest losses, poor transportation networks which causes congestion in high production areas play a role too, price fluctuations due to high importation of the same products that are locally grown is another factor.

I believe aggressive unapologetic investment in structures to improve road networks, on-farm storage facilities, price regulation through reduction in importation and intentional improvement in local production (all hands being on deck: the farmers, the private sector and the government) will stabilize to a great degree the food insecurity currently experienced across Nigeria and in Africa.
