Facts & Myths about Blogging:
"I will be re-sharing old posts about Blogging to your guys, i hope you learn. This will also reduce the influx of the many "teach me blogging DMs i get daily".
1: You do not earn from blogging by connecting your bank account with MTN, Airtel etc and then share visitors Data subscription.
2: Immediately you finish setting up your blog, you won’t start making money until Monetization strategies are in place. Some of which are Google Adsense, Taboola, Outbrain, Adsterra, Galaksion etc.
3: You do not make money merely from people visiting your blog and reading posts.
4: More than 100 blogs/websites are created every minute around the world. The saturation is high, thats why you have to craft a niche with high demand and be consistent at it.
5: You must not be an expert writer to own a Blog.
6: You must not own a Laptop to run a Blog.
7: Your laptop must not be on 247 to keep the blog running. There are paid servers that handles that and the uptime of your blog is 99.9%
8: Just because you Graduated from a certain discipline doesn’t mean you must create a blog about it and it will become successful. e.g an Architecture students wanting to own a blog about architecture, only except you are not creating a blog to make money.
PS: We have created blogs about things we don't like and are not passionate about, because... there is money in that niche.
9: Blogs incur extra expenses from Hosting renewal monthly payments and yearly domain renewal.
10: Everything you post on your blog doesn’t automatically mean it will display on Google search. It takes 30days - 8months for proper indexing on Google, after you must have made all proper configurations and listing sitemaps on Google search console.
11: You can’t easily sell a blog that isn’t being monetized. Just because you finish building a blog means someone would buy it, if its not making money already or has access to make money, its as good as no-blog.
12: Abandoned blogs gets their domains expired and are available to be repurchased by just anyone on the internet.
13: Like every other skill, Blogging requires consistency, pose its own risks and may be time consuming at early stages.
14: Blogging requires dynamic knowledge for monetization, as time goes it unlocks new potentials. How to read and write, SEO writing, Web Design, Logo ideation, Traffic sourcing etc.
15: With blogging, you don’t have to talk, source for customers, just set it up, get people visiting your blog through search or paid and with the right method of monetization and strategy you would be earning well.
16: Blogging is not only for Influencers. Blogging can make you an influencer quickly.
17: Blogging has been around for over 20 years.
18: Blogging is a known form that can easily create multiple income streams in one. The more monetization method you employ the more streams of income as far you get enough traffic to feed them.
19: With popular plugins and scripts, you don’t have to worry about creating fresh posts every time because old posts can be rotated.
20: Blogging doesn’t require technical knowledge as virtually every Proceedure during startup is available on the internet.
Extra: You can run multiple blogs simultaneously as it's not too time consuming.
