Wife Of Chikun LG Chairman Visits IMAM Centre, Advocates Breastfeeding, Nutrition

The wife of the Chikun Local Government Chairman, Mrs. Talatu Musa, on Tuesday paid a visit to the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) Centre at PHC Tudun Wada Kujama, as part of efforts to strengthen awareness on child and maternal nutrition in the area.

During the visit, Mrs. Musa emphasized the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, healthy feeding practices, and the use of locally available foods in preventing and combating malnutrition across Chikun Local Government Area.

She noted that improving nutrition among children and expectant mothers remains a critical step toward reducing cases of severe acute malnutrition in the LGA.

In further support of the initiative, the Executive Chairman of Chikun Local Government, Engr. Salasi Nuhu Musa, facilitated the production of 500 packs of Garin Kunun Lafiya, alongside the provision of supportive drugs and data tools for nine IMAM centres across the local government.

As part of the outreach, Mrs. Musa also donated mama kits to 50 mothers, including mothers of children suffering from severe acute malnutrition as well as pregnant women.

The intervention is expected to boost ongoing efforts to improve maternal and child health services while promoting sustainable nutrition practices within the community.

Distinguished Senator Phillip Tanimu Aduda, after a brief stop at the airport to receive and accompany the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, proceeded to Kwali Area Council on a solemn condolence visit to the Executive Chairman, Honourable Danladi Chiya, following the demise of his beloved mother.

He was accorded a rousing and heartfelt reception by the people of Kwali, who turned out in large numbers to welcome him just as seen on the pictures.

As reported, during the visit, Senator Aduda offered fervent prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed soul and beseeched Almighty God to grant the Chairman, his family, and the entire Kwali community the fortitude to bear this profound and irreparable loss.

On 5th April 2026, the Karji Gbagyi Youths on their cultural day lights on the world of Gbagyi people in Kaduna state, and experiencing the presence of some Gbagyi political leaders gives hope to the people. There is this feeling that it will come a time the whole nation will imitate them on this step taken if they keep the fire burning.

On their cultural day where a lot of activities were carried out with a lot of things discovered from the guest speaker Hon Dcn Markus Yari Zarmai, from little of the history of Karji community to his educational journey and his current position in Kaduna political race to encourage the youths and the general public to know how rough the journey may be. He highlighted some key words using the topic the community used for the day: "The Influence of Youths in the Political Race"; it was indeed impactful that it came with so many words of encouragement to the youths not to give up on education as it's the light of the world.

Their style of using cultural music to back it up, with Salasi Elkanah present by himself and some other Gbagyi music makes it more interesting and gave knowledge to the younger generation. This did not end there, seeing how Freedom Radio and KSMC 90.9 FM did their job by carrying the news of the event and making it go round the state on air is encouraging.

The youths on their statement on air yesterday at Freedom Radio (92.9 FM), that, this is just the beginning, the general public should expect a bigger one where all the tribes in Karji community will be carried along.

Yesterday, 5th April 2026, at Karji Gbagyi Cultural Day, being their first time to observe a day to mark a step forward, Kaduna state House Member (2015-2019), Chikun constituency, Hon. Dcn Markus Yari Zarmai serves as guest speaker. Hon. Jesse David, Member House of Assembly representing Chikun constituency and Hon. John Sunday Dibal were all present and served as guests of honour amidst village heads and other dignitaries. This great step was taken by Karji/Karuga New Extension/Ungwan Jatau/Ungwan Makama and Ungwan Waziri Gbagyi Youths in promoting culture using a theme: The Influence of Youths in the Political Race
