MYAM EMMANUEL AONDOUNGWA AKA EMMYWUKS WROTE
DAY171 NIG2USA ON A BICYCLE 🇳🇬🚴🇺🇲
After my Mauritania visa was denied twice in Senegal, I honestly thought the road had finally closed on me. It was one of those moments where you sit alone and ask yourself, “Is this where the journey ends?”
Then Mr. Sidi Brahim Dah showed up.
Even before all this, he had been quietly following my journey online, encouraging me from Mauritania without ever meeting me. When he heard about the visa rejection, he didn’t hesitate. He stepped in from Mauritania, made the right calls, pushed where it mattered, and just like that, what felt impossible became possible.
My visa was approved and today, I am in Mauritania. But he didn’t stop there.
Before I even arrived in the capital city last night, he had already booked a hotel for me, paid in full, and stocked the place with groceries so I could rest like a human again. This morning, we sat down, ate breakfast together, and started planning my journey to Morocco, calmly, intentionally, like this struggle was his too.
I don’t even know how to properly thank him.
Some people don’t just help, they restore your faith in humanity.
The way God keeps opening doors on this journey, from Nigeria to this very moment, is something I honestly can’t explain. Every time the road says “stop,” God sends a person who says “move.” Sometimes it’s painful, sometimes it’s ironic, sometimes it feels like a tragedy turning into comedy right before your eyes, but grace keeps winning.
Thank you, Mr. Sidi Brahim.
And to my online family, Thank you.
You may not wear suits or sit in offices, but you are my sponsors. You carry me with your prayers, your messages, your love, and your belief. This journey is hard.
But with people like you, it is also beautiful.
Congratulations, we made it to Nouakchott, the capital city of Mauritania 🇲🇷.
The journey continues to Morroco... Soon.
Together we Ride. Together we Rise.
