IS CONTENT REALLY KING?
I have heard many individuals and even marketer argue about the the concept of content being King in marketing.
Most people take their time to harness every marketing strategy to increase traffic and sales, and neglect the aspect of content creation.
“CONTENT IS KING”, These were the exact words of BILL GATES, co-founder of Microsoft in his essay in 1996. In his essay, he described the future of Internet as a marketplace for content.
In marketing today, content is really KING.
It is content that bring visitors to your website.
Content is like a magnet that attracts traffic to your website. With content you convert your readers to traffic and eventually they become buyers.
A good SEO without content doesn't convert, it's your content that does the conversion.
You should understand that a market without traffic is like a desert.
Firstly, what is traffic?
Traffic refers to the volume of visitors that visit your website or webpage.
Someone creating a website as a personal hobby (e.g. a blogger sharing their travel experiences) may not consider their traffic important.
But for businesses and organizations, understanding website traffic and identifying ways to improve it is essential for consistent growth of your business.
As an affiliate marketer, your contents should generate traffic.
A good content must have the following qualities:
1. Audience: Your audience should be the first on come to your mind before writing. This will determine your plan, pattern and narratives. Your audience should be the most important part of your marketing and content creation, your are doing everything because of them.
2. Objective: This is a very vital aspect of content creation. You don't just want to write, you must have an objective. What do you want to achieve by writing?
If you only objective is to sell then you will lose engagements.
Your writing objective should be:
> To educate
>To inspire
>To inform
>To entertain
>To sell
You offer value first before you sell.
3. Ideology: This refers to principles, thoughts or ideas. Your content must be based on your ideology and it must be constant. What ideology are you projecting?
4. Narrative: Narratives refers to spoken or written accounts of connected events; a story, description, record, statement, report.
Your content must have a narrative pattern that attracts and get audience glued to it.
You must choose your narrative depending on what you are pushing to your audience.
