Some students are not afraid of their project topic.

The scariest message a student can receive is not “We need to talk.”
It is: “Kindly effect the corrections and resubmit before Friday.”
hmmm...

At first, the message looks harmless.

Just one sentence.

Very short.

Very official.

Very innocent.

But the moment a student sees it, the heart will first pause like bad network.

Because what exactly does “effect the corrections” mean?

Is it the introduction?
Is it the literature review?
Is it the methodology?
Is it the data analysis?
Is it the whole project?
Or is the supervisor stylishly saying, “My friend, start again”? 😂

This is the reality of many students.

One minute, you are happy that you have submitted your work.

You are even feeling like a serious scholar.

You close your laptop with confidence.

When your supervisor says: "Submit Chapter One by Friday…”
But your brain is still loading. 🥹

Nobody talks about that silent panic that comes when your supervisor says:

“Submit your Chapter One by Friday.”

On the outside, you will just reply:

“Okay sir.”
“Okay ma.”
“Noted, sir.”
“I will work on it, ma.”

But deep down?

Your spirit has already opened Google and typed:

“How to disappear from school without offending God.” 😂

Because the truth is, many students are not lazy.

Many students are not unserious.

Many students are not careless.

They are just overwhelmed.

One minute, you are trying to understand your topic.

There are some messages you receive and you just sit down, smile, and say…

“God, thank You. This is why I do what I do.”

Some months ago, a young man running his MBA program in Canada reached out to me through a referral.

At first, he sounded calm.

But you know that kind of calmness that is not really calmness?
The kind of calmness that is just stress wearing Agbada? 😂

Deep down, the guy was tired.

He was trying to balance everything at once:
MBA classes, school assessments, reports, research work, projects, deadlines, and on top of everything, long working hours almost every day.

At one point, he said something like, “Bro, I don’t even know where to start from.”

And honestly, I understood him.

Because doing an MBA abroad is not beans.

You will be in class thinking about assignment.
You will be at work thinking about report.
You will be eating and suddenly remember that your supervisor said “revise chapter three.”
You will try to sleep, then Turnitin, referencing, data analysis, and presentation will start dancing Amapiano inside your head. 😂

Everything was already beginning to look scattered for him.

He had the passion.
He had the desire to finish strong.

Do you know what it means for a supervisor to add “Well done”?

That one is not ordinary English.

That means, “you are on the right track.”
That is the supervisor’s version of standing ovation.
That is the kind of “Well done” that can make somebody cook rice and chicken on a weekday. 😂

When my client sent me the message, he was so excited.

He said his heart had been skipping before, but now he was relieved.

I asked him, “Has he told you to continue?”

He said, “Yes, he said I can continue.”

That was the moment I told him:

“Now let’s burst his brain finally. He must grade you high.” 😂

And honestly, that is the goal.

Not just to submit work.
Not just to meet deadlines.
Not just to escape supervisor’s wahala.

The goal is to submit something you can be proud of.

Something that gives you confidence.
Something that makes your supervisor take you seriously.

What touched me most was not even only the supervisor’s comment.
