What happened after this client challenged my recommendation surprised me.
A fashion designer came to me through a referral. After reviewing her page, I quickly noticed the problem.
She was excellent at her craft, but her content wasn't helping her business grow.
Most of her posts were dance videos, random uploads, and occasional pleas for people to patronize her. There was no clear strategy behind the content.
When I shared my observations and recommendations, she initially disagreed.
But after walking her through the gaps and showing her what could be improved, she began to see things differently.
Here's what I advised:
✅ Understand your target audience and create content that speaks directly to them.
✅ Study competitors, not to copy them, but to identify opportunities and gaps you can leverage.
✅ Build a content strategy and calendar that supports your business goals.
✅ As a fashion designer, showcase your process. People love seeing the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating beautiful outfits.
By the end of the conversation, she thanked me for the insights.
That same day, she paid for a Page Audit and a 30-Day Content Calendar.
One thing I've learned as a Social Media Strategist is this:
When you truly understand your craft, you don't have to pressure people to buy. Clarity creates confidence, and confidence builds trust.
Have you ever had a conversation with a client that completely changed their perspective?
I'd love to hear your experience in the comments.
