Sometimes one bold move changes everything.

Years ago, I walked into a restaurant and pitched a “12 Days of Christmas” campaign for free. It brought in new customers, revived old ones, and earned me a full contract to set up another restaurant from scratch. That 25-seater restaurant later ranked Top 10 in Lagos Mainland and nearly hit 9 figures in six months.

I tried again with a foreign company. I studied the founder, crafted the perfect pitch, wowed them, and got ghosted. Probably too hot to handle. 😂

Fast forward to now, I have recently taken another shot. And this time, I have been handed the pool table to dazzle, and I can’t wait to share the success story soon.

Why am I sharing this, even when no one asked? Well, A friend’s delusional attempt to join Gary Vaynerchuk’s team reminded me of how delusional I once was. Showing up without being called. Believing I could do it before I had proof. And then doing it anyway.

If Dhar Mann didn’t send a resume to work with John Kraski, but showed up with ideas and proactiveness. It means that the job hunt, either on LinkedIn, Upwork, or any other platform, goes beyond just applying.

So, go beyond your RESUME.. Show up DIFFERENT. In my case, LEAD WITH THE PROOF, SAMPLE, A GROWTH PLAN, A CLEAR PITCH, AND DELUSION. That’s how you get noticed. That’s how you grow.

For those scared to shoot their shot... What’s the worst that can happen?

In a football match, when a player scores an own goal, he gets sad and bitter at himself/herself for making such a mistake.

The team supporters, fellow team players and coach are sometimes angry or dissapointed for such error made by the player.

Now imagine that player taking off his jersey to celebrate the own goal. (I am scared to imagine the aftermath) but he actually can.

How? (Answer towards the end).

Remember! Scoring an own goal is never done on purpose. To score and win the opponent is the plan.

You see! Life is like a football game and your plan in it is to win at every stage but sometimes you score own goals through bad decisions, mistakes and so on.

Start by celebrating the fact that you being part of the game, even in the moment of an own goal. You are still playing.

And just like a player, you can shoot from your goalpost to equalize and even win the match.

Until the final whistle (death) is blown. Continue to Celebrate Your Own Goal.

I am playing the trump card to bring down one particular wall.

Everyone loves good-looking landing pages and if as a business or brand.....

Your landing page does not have a strong, contextual hero shot and supporting imagery (Making it easy for people to visualize themselves enjoying the benefits of your product/service).

If it does not present a single and focused call to action. Both from a "design" perspective and a compelling "copy" perspective.

States your value proposition with a compelling header and subhead clearly. (stating the benefits of your offer and what makes you unique from everyone).

Then I ask you this.. When was the last time you updated your landing page? 5 years ago?

This is the "WALL" that needs to be broken down completely. You sell or provide services everyday and just like you rearrange your house or buy new stuffs for the house, you need to do same for your landing page.

Potential customers are surfing and flying all over the internet, let your landing page be their choice for landing when you reach out to them.
