Breaking Free from a Poverty Mindset
It’s funny , and a little sad , how quickly people with a poverty mindset get triggered when you try to show them how to make money.
Someone comes to you, frustrated:
“I don’t know what’s happening to me… nothing I do is working.”
And out of genuine concern, you start giving them ideas:
“Hey, there’s this business you can start…”
“Maybe learn this skill…”
Suddenly, they shut down:
“You don’t understand.”
“You’re speaking from privilege.”
“Is it not money I’ll use to start?”
It’s wild to watch — because they want change so badly, yet reject the very steps that could bring it.
But I get it. I was once there too.
When you’re deep in struggle, it’s not just your pocket that’s empty, it’s your identity that takes the biggest hit.
You start to feel unseen, misunderstood, even helpless.
And when someone tries to lift you, it feels like they’re judging you.
But truth is… they’re not. They’re just standing on the other side of the wall you’re trying to climb.
Here’s the hard truth: no miracle happens outside of effort.
The grace you’re waiting for is already hidden in the work you keep avoiding.
So if you really want out, stop looking for the shortcut , lean into the effort.
Because on the other side of that struggle is freedom.
