Sometime last week, while going through the WhatsApp statuses of my contacts, I came across the status of a guy who’s into the production of natural and health-based drinks. It wasn’t the first time I’d seen his posts, but something about it this time caught my attention. I saw an opportunity, not just to appreciate his product, but to provide value by helping him showcase it more effectively.
So, I reached out via DM. I introduced myself, explained the power of digital advertising, and gave a clear breakdown of how ads could boost his visibility and sales. I didn’t just offer a service, I presented a solution, supported by my experience and knowledge in digital marketing. Unfortunately, he read the message but didn’t respond. Still, I didn’t follow up again, not because I lost interest, but because I didn’t want to come across as desperate or raise doubts about my credibility.
Fast forward to yesterday, I got a message from him, asking how we could begin the ad campaign. Just like that, a deal was sealed.
Here’s the point: as a business person or service provider, your success often lies in your ability to identify opportunities where others see routine. Preparation is key, but so is vision. If I hadn’t paid attention to his regular posts, I would’ve missed the chance to offer a solution, one he didn’t even realize he needed at the time.
As a digital advertiser, it’s my responsibility to educate potential clients about the value of visibility, especially in a space where not every entrepreneur understands how powerful ads can be. The lesson? Stay ready. Observe. Engage smartly. Let your skills speak, and when opportunity meets preparation, success becomes inevitable.
