Malice is often misunderstood by those who hold onto it. It may feel like a way to respond to hurt or to punish someone else, but in reality it slowly destroys the person who carries it. As the saying goes, “Malice drinks one’s own poison while hoping another will suffer.” This means that while a person thinks they are harming others through bitterness, they are actually harming themselves more deeply.
A heart filled with malice has no room for peace. When anger and resentment take control, there is little space left for calmness, clarity, or joy. Life becomes heavy, and the mind remains stuck in negative thoughts that drain inner strength.
In truth, “Malice is a fire that burns the one who carries it more than the one it is aimed at.” The pain it causes does not stay with the target—it grows inside the person who refuses to let go. Over time, the malice keeper may find that while they are still holding on to bitterness, others have moved on and are living freely.
This is why it is important to let go of malice. Choosing forgiveness and peace is not weakness; it is strength. It restores the heart, clears the mind, and creates a healthier and more peaceful life. Happy Sunday to you all
