In my practice as a marketing coach, one of the most common fears I see entrepreneurs facing is the fear of sounding salesy. We’ve all experienced being sold to in a pushy, sleazy way, and it’s often quite an unpleasant experience.
To be frank, the techniques that make customers uncomfortable are often simply poor sales skills. Selling is meant to be an act of service enjoyed by both customer and provider. When selling is done correctly, both parties can actually enjoy the process. Here is the fifth tips to help make selling more enjoyable
5. Allow yourself to move on.
If you take the time to build a rapport with potential clients and listen to them, you’ll likely have a pretty good idea of whether someone is genuinely interested in what you offer. If the person isn’t interested, it’s okay to move on. You don’t need to sell to everyone in order to be successful. When you allow yourself to move on from that relationship, often the person feels more comfortable and might even end up referring other people to you in the future.
