We may not be where we want to be yet, but every small step taken today moves us closer.
Don't stop learning. Don't stop building. Don't stop believing.

One of the biggest changes I made recently wasn't visual.

It was a product decision.

Originally, every event posted on VERIVE was supposed to be reviewed by me before going live.

At first, it sounded like a great idea.

Quality control.
Better events.
Less spam.

Then I asked myself a simple question:

What happens if this actually works?

What happens when hundreds of organizers start posting events?

What happens when they post multiple events every week?

I realized something uncomfortable.

I wasn't building a product.

I was building a bottleneck.

The system depended on me.

So I scrapped the idea.

Instead of manually approving every event, I'm building systems that reward trustworthy organizers and gradually increase their visibility based on performance.

The goal isn't to manually control quality.

The goal is to design a system where quality naturally rises to the top.

One of the most dangerous things in product development:

A beautiful interface that doesn't actually work.

I logged into VERIVE as an organizer to test the experience.

Everything looked fine.

Then I started clicking.

The organizer couldn't properly manage events.

Some forms weren't saving.

Some actions weren't connected.

Some workflows existed only visually.

The UI looked finished.

The functionality wasn't.

That testing session completely changed my roadmap.

It reminded me that users don't care how polished something looks.

I thought rebranding meant changing a logo.

Turns out it also means breaking your authentication system.

After changing the product name from VERIVENT to VERIVE, I updated:

• The branding
• The domain
• GitHub
• Vercel

Everything looked fine.

Until Google authentication stopped behaving correctly.

Some URLs still pointed to the old project.

Some redirects still expected the old structure.

Some configurations were still living in the past.

A rebrand doesn't just touch design.

It touches infrastructure.

Eventually I fixed the OAuth configuration, updated the redirects, and got everything working again.

One small name change.

The last time I posted here, VERIVE wasn't really VERIVE yet.

The logo was different.

The colors were different.

Even the name was different.

From the outside, it probably looked like nothing was happening.

Behind the scenes, almost everything changed.

I rebuilt the brand identity.

Redesigned the logo.

Defined the typography.

Created the icon system.

Started building the brand strategy.

And while all of that was happening, development never stopped.

The page has been quiet.

The project hasn't.

I'm going to start documenting the journey properly from now on.

The wins.

The mistakes.

The bugs.

The things that broke.

And the things that somehow worked.

Back to building.

Quick VERIVE update.

Current stage: Product refinement and brand migration.

So far:

✓ Core application foundation is built
✓ Next.js + Supabase setup is live
✓ Authentication system is working
✓ Organizer workflows are in place
✓ Reputation and verification systems are being designed
✓ Admin panel is partially completed

One major change happened recently.

The project was originally called VERIVENT.

After discovering a naming conflict, I decided to rebrand the platform to VERIVE and use the opportunity to completely rethink the brand strategy, messaging, and visual identity.

What I'm working on right now:

• New brand visuals
• New color system
• New UI refinements
• Better product messaging
• Updating the entire experience to align with the new vision

After that:

• Finish the remaining admin tools
• Populate the platform with initial organizers and events
• Continue improving the trust and reputation system

A lot of work left to do, but progress is progress.

One of the products I'm currently building is called VERIVE.

VERIVE is a trust-first event discovery platform for the African tech and creative ecosystem.

The idea came from a simple observation:

Finding events is easy.

Finding events that are actually worth your time is not.

Every week there are dozens of event links floating around on WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, X, and different event platforms.

But most people still struggle to answer questions like:

• Is this event actually valuable?
• Has this organizer delivered quality events before?
• Will I learn anything useful?
• Is this worth my time and money?

VERIVE is being built to help answer those questions.

Instead of focusing only on event listings, we're focusing on trust.

Organizer reputation.
Community feedback.
Verification systems.
Quality signals.

The long-term goal is simple:

Help people show up to what matters.

Still early.

Still building.

Today feels like a good day to properly introduce myself.

My name is Emeka Divine.

I'm a Front-End Developer and Brand Identity Designer passionate about building products that look good, work well, and solve real problems.

Over the last few years, I've spent a lot of time learning design systems, branding, user experience, and front-end development. I've worked on logos, brand identities, websites, landing pages, and digital experiences for businesses and personal brands.

Recently, I've also started expanding deeper into software engineering because I don't just want to design products anymore — I want to build them from idea to deployment.

So my current journey is simple:
