On the JAMB portal, you cannot change details such as name, date of birth, or state of origin.
The only option is to obtain a sworn affidavit from the court, which is 100% valid and recognized.

πŸ‘‰ Please note: Your affidavit has nothing to do with JAMB, any mistake made on the portal is almost impossible to change. The affidavit is mainly for your university screening (especially physical screening). If any issues or questions arise about your details, you can present the affidavit as official proof.

What is JUPEB?

JUPEB means Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board.
It’s like a one-year program you do before entering 200 level in the university.

How it works in ABSU (Abia State University):

1. Duration – The program lasts 9–12 months (one academic session).

2. Courses/Subjects – You’ll choose subjects that match the course you want to study in ABSU (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics for Medicine; Government, Literature, CRS for Law, etc.).

3. Lectures – You attend normal classes and write tests/exams just like 100-level students.

4. Final Exam – At the end, JUPEB sets a national exam (like WAEC style but advanced).

5. Admission into ABSU – If you pass well, ABSU will admit you directly into 200 level without JAMB.

6. – The JUPEB result is valid for 4 years ,you can use it to enter other schools apart from absu or use it for next year and next year and next year until 4 years expires

Let’s say you want to study Pharmacy in ABSU:

You register for JUPEB.

You’ll take Biology, Chemistry, Physics classes for one year.

You write the JUPEB final exam.

If you pass with good grades, ABSU gives you admission straight into 200 level Pharmacy.

If you've been given admission and you're unable to have it accepted via SMS due to any reason, kindly go to your nearest CBT center to have it done.

Be reminded that acceptance of admission offer only lasts for a month according to JAMB 2025 policy meeting, hence, the offer will be withdrawn.

JAMB CAPS Admission Terms and what they mean.

If you have been checking your JAMB CAPS portal and keep seeing words like β€œNot Admitted,” β€œAdmission in Progress,” or β€œTransfer Approval” it can be a little confusing. But here is a simple breakdown of what each term means so you know exactly where you stand

1. Not Admitted

This means you have not yet been offered admission. It doesn't call for panic though because admissions are released in batches. Your school may not have uploaded your details yet, so keep checking regularly, especially if your school has started giving admissions.

2. Admission in Progress

At this stage, your school has recommended you for admission and JAMB is currently validating it. You are very close. If all goes well, your status will soon change to β€œCongratulations…” and I pray it does.

3. Admitted / Admission Offered

When you see β€œCongratulations…”, it means you have officially been offered admission on CAPS. At this point, you must either:

Accept Admission to secure your admission.
Or
Reject Admission if you prefer to wait for another school or course.

4. Transfer Approval

This means your school wants to move you from your original course to another one.May be you applied for nursing and they want to move you to fishery,you

Accept and continue with the new course.
Or
Reject but note that this may reduce your chances of admission in that school.

5. Accept Admission

Use this option when you are satisfied with the admission given. Accepting officially confirms it with JAMB.

You can accept at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre (fingerprint verification required).

Or accept via SMS: send β€œACCEPT” to 55019 or 66019 using your JAMB registration phone number.

6. Reject Admission

If you are not interested in the admission offered, you can reject it.

7. Marketplace (JAMB Market Place Offer)

As institutions prepare for the 2025 admission cycle, JAMB reiterates that any admissions conducted outside CAPS will be void.

Institutions are urged to follow the established guidelines strictly, avoid past mistakes, and use official email addresses for all CAPS-related activities to ensure a smooth admission process.

IS JAMB CHANGE OF COURSE/INSTITUTION STILL AVAILABLE?

The service is available at any JAMB approved CBT Centre and it doesn't cost more than Two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira ( #2,500.00) only.
