Rt Hon Agom Anthony Joins Speaker and Other Benue State House Assembly Members on Strategic Policy Training in Thailand, Partners Seminar DD and Global Policy Experts to Strengthen Legislative Governance
The Member representing Okpokwu State Constituency Benue State House Assembly and House of Reps hopeful for Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Agom Anthony joined the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Alfred Emberga, MNIQS and other Members of the Assembly on a legislative tour and capacity-building study to Pattaya, Thailand, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional performance, strategic policy development, and legislative effectiveness in Benue State.
The programme, which commenced on Saturday, January 31, 2026 with a theme, “Developing Strategic Policy,” through broader initiative "Benue State House of Assembly Study and Capacity Building Training, 2026.”
The training is being delivered in collaboration with SeminarDD, an international professional training and development organisation, facilitated by renowned public policy and governance expert, Prof. Dr. Bhakaporn Kuljirundhorn. The sessions are coordinated by Denschuxs T & T Limited, the programme’s official partner and logistics provider.
According to the organisers, the workshop structure includes intensive policy formulation clinics, institutional governance modules, and legislative best-practice sessions designed to enhance lawmakers’ capacity in strategic planning, oversight functions, and effective-based lawmaking.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, Speaker Alfred Emberga described the tour as a strategic investment in strengthening the legislative arm of government in Benue State.
“This engagement will equip our members with modern tools for policy analysis, strategic planning, and responsive legislation. The knowledge gained here will directly translate into stronger laws, policies, effective oversight, and improved service delivery for the people of Benue,” the Speaker stated.
Participants are engaging in interactive workshops, expert-led policy dialogues, and institutional learning sessions that focus on comparative legislative systems, global governance trends, and the practical application of strategic policy frameworks in sub-national governments.
The Benue State House of Assembly members and Staff in attendance, expressed confidence that the international exposure and professional training will further enhance the Assembly’s role in deepening democratic governance, strengthening constituency representation, and promoting sustainable development initiatives across the state.
The legislative tour and training programme is expected to roundup later in the week, marking another milestone in the history of the 10th Benue State House of Assembly under Speaker Emberga's ongoing commitment to legislative excellence, transparency, and people-centered governance.
