Two guys were arguing online the other day, one from US and the other from Afghanistan, over which drone actually made more sense for the money, the Afghanistan guy said paying that much for a Matrice 400 was pure overkill, why would anyone need 6kg payload capacity just to catch a wedding video, he asked, laughing at the price tag, the US guy fired back saying he wasn't buying it for weddings, he flies power line inspections for a utility company, and that 40km transmission range with power line level obstacle sensing has already saved his crew from three near miss collisions this year alone, the Lagos guy paused, then admitted he was comparing apples to oranges, his cousin just wanted aerial shots for a content page, not enterprise level industrial work, and that argument right there is exactly the point, a drone isn't overpriced or underpriced on its own, it's overpriced or underpriced for what you're actually using it for, the same Matrice 400 that sounds ridiculous to a content creator is a bargain to a power line inspector who used to risk his life climbing towers, so before anyone calls a drone "too expensive" or "worth every dime," the real question is always, what task is this drone solving for me, tell us in the comments, team US or team Afghanistan, who had the stronger argument.
