Let’s talk about the MONSTER MENTALITY MINDSET of "Declan Rice" and how you can adopt it to succeed in life.

“THE MONSTER MENTALITY MINDSET” is a mindset of champions. It is hinged On the statement made by Declan Rice, “It is not yet done,” after their defeat to Man City.

The braveness to make that statement in front of the camera, knowing fully well that it will be captured and that that statement will also be used against him at the end of the season if the results don’t go Arsenal’s way, gives us an insight into the type of mentality he has. The mentality of champions.

A mentality that keeps one going even when the odds are fully stacked against him/her. A mentality that keeps one going when the expected results are not being achieved.

A mentality that understands consistency with the right framework and strategy will always have compounding effects that will eventually lead to achieving the expected results. That is the mentality of champions, and it has been exemplified by Declan Rice.

Throughout this season he has been the leadership anchor Arsenal players needed on the field. Always encouraging them and also cheering the fans to keep supporting because he has always believed that it was just a matter of time before the hard work pays off.

And finally, it paid off this season. Arsenal are the champions of England and soon to be champions of Europe because a standout individual decided to infect his colleagues and fellow teammates with his monster mentality mindset.

Now how does this apply to you as a leader, entrepreneur, businessperson, manager, founder, CEO, and even employee? It is simple; first of all, you must understand one of the cardinal points of the theory, which is consistency, hard work, and an effective strategic framework.

Once you are able to understand these indices, it becomes easier for you to start implementing this theory in all facets of your life. Nothing good comes easy, and failure most times is inevitable, but someone with a monster mentality mindset will always be unfazed when faced with such a dilemma because he or she knows it is part of the process.

J.K. Rowling kept writing while living on public assistance; Oprah Winfrey rose from poverty to become one of the most influential women in media; and Michael Jordan turned early rejection into fuel for greatness. The common thread is simple: setbacks did not get the final word. Their response did.

But monster mentality is not blind stubbornness. It is consistency in direction. It means studying what actually works in your space, understanding your audience, watching the market, and building a strategy you can repeat long enough for results to compound.

It means cutting off what is unproductive, keeping A-players around you, and staying accountable when the journey gets uncomfortable. That is what Arteta built at Arsenal: not just motivation, but a system, a culture, and a standard that could survive pressure.

So whether you are building a business, leading a team, or fighting for your own comeback, adopt the monster mentality. Don’t panic when progress is slow. Don’t abandon the process because the applause has not come yet. Stay consistent. Stay strategic. Stay dangerous.

“If a recruiter asks you to introduce yourself during an interview session, what will be your response” please don’t start with

your primary school, your hometown, and the fact that you love networking.

That answer wastes the interviewer’s time. Recruiters are usually listening for a clear, role-focused summary of who you are, what you’ve done, and why you fit this job.

I have seen candidates talk for 3 minutes and say absolutely nothing. Others read their CV like it is a bedtime story.

Some even say, “I’m a hardworking team player,” which is so generic it could belong to anyone.

The truth is, a strong introduction should sound like a short career story, not a biography or a list of job titles.

What works better? Start with who you are professionally, mention 1–2 relevant achievements, then connect it to the role. Present, past, future. That is the sweet spot. That is what a recruiter actually wants to hear.

A simple answer could sound like this: “I’m a customer support professional with 4 years of experience improving client satisfaction and resolving complex issues. In my last role, I helped reduce response time and improved customer feedback. I’m now looking for a role where I can bring that same energy and impact to a growing team.”

Your first 30 seconds can open the door or close it.

Having said that

If You Keep Leaving Interviews Thinking ‘I Should’ve Said More’…” READ THIS

The truth is most interview answers fail before the interview even starts.

A lot of smart people do not struggle because they are unqualified.

Rather, they struggle because they walk into the interview sounding generic.

“I am hardworking.” “I am a team player.” “I can work under pressure.”
Everyone says that.

What actually works is this:
Go into every interview with 3 things ready:
1. A short story about who you are
2. One real example of a win you achieved
3. One challenge you faced and how you handled it

That is what makes your answer sound real.
For example, instead of saying, “I am good at problem-solving,” say:
“There was a time a project was delaying, and I broke it into small steps, followed up daily, and got it back on track.”

That is the difference between sounding prepared and sounding forgettable.

Your CV should also do the same thing.
Not just list duties.
It should show value.

If your CV is not getting interviews, or you keep freezing when asked basic interview questions, that is something you can fix.

I help job seekers prepare stronger interview answers, improve their confidence, and rewrite CVs that actually get attention.

“If You Can’t Negotiate, You Can’t Lead. It’s That Simple.”

Negotiation is not just a skill for salespeople.
It is the secret weapon of every great leader.
Because the truth is, leadership is one long negotiation.

You negotiate with your team when deadlines are tight.

You negotiate with management when resources are limited.

You negotiate with clients, partners, and even with reality when things do not go as planned.

A leader who cannot negotiate will keep losing on all fronts.
They will lose opportunities.
They will lose influence.
They will lose respect.

I bet we have all seen it happen one way or another: a brilliant leader with great ideas, but every conversation ends in frustration because they cannot persuade, align, or find common ground.

And that is painful.
But the good news is;
Negotiation is learnable.
Start by listening more than you speak.
Understand what the other person values.
Do not fight for position too early.
Look for win-win, not ego-win.

That one shift can change how people respond to you.
Great leaders do not always get their way.
But they know how to move people, protect value, and still get results.

If you are leading people, managing teams, hiring talent, or building your career, negotiation is not optional. It is survival.

I am Chikwendu Ukachukwu Obioma and I help professionals and organizations strengthen this skill through leadership training, career coaching, hiring, and recruitment support.

This one technical decision by Mikel Arteta against West Ham might have just won Arsenal the league.
And the leadership lesson is way bigger than football.

When Ben White went off injured, Arteta made a call that looked safe on paper but nearly cost Arsenal control of the game. He moved Declan Rice into right-back and brought in Zubimendi.

The result was painful to watch: Arsenal lost fluidity in midfield,
their attacking structure became blunt,
and even their defensive shape suffered.

West Ham grew into the game because Arsenal had been overcomplicated by the wrong adjustment.

But great leaders do not stay loyal to mistakes.

At halftime, Arteta corrected it. He brought on Mosquera, pushed Declan Rice back into his natural role, and then made the boldest decision of the night: he took off Zubimendi shortly after bringing him on.

That is what leadership looks like under pressure.

Not pride.
Not ego.
Not emotional attachment to a bad decision.

Just the courage to say, “This is not working,” and fix it fast.

It reminds me of the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, when Arteta chose emotion over logic by starting the second-choice goalkeeper (Kepa) instead of the more reliable Raya. And Arsenal paid dearly for it.

The lesson is clear: in high-stakes moments, leadership is not about being comfortable. It is about being ruthless enough to protect the outcome.

Business leaders, CEOs, founders, and managers all face the same reality.

Sometimes the difference between winning and losing is one hard decision made on time.

This is a Q&A session with a HR manager: Ask me anything about Hiring and recruitment, HR, and Organisational behaviour

As a HR manager and consultant, I can say for sure that Hiring can be messy.

Employers are tired of weak hires.
Founders are tired of wasting money on the wrong people.

Hiring managers are tired of interviews that sound good but lead nowhere.

Candidates are tired of ghosting, vague feedback, and job processes that feel like a test of patience.

HR teams are tired of trying to fix culture issues that should have been prevented at the hiring stage.

And inside the workplace, the problems do not stop there.

You see poor communication,
low accountability,
attitude issues,
low engagement,
silent resignations,
and teams that look busy but are not really productive.

I understand the frustration as someone who is currently at the front line.
I know U want a little bit of clarity on these issues and that's
why I have opened a real Q&A session here.

Ask me anything about hiring,
HR, workplace culture,
employee issues,
interview structure,
candidate assessment,
retention,
conflict,
onboarding,
or how to build a stronger team.

If you are an employer or hiring manager, ask me how to spot real competence during an interview.

If you are a candidate, ask me how to present yourself better.

If you are an HR professional or founder, ask me how to solve the people problems affecting your organisation.

I will answer as honestly and practically as possible.

And if you need support with hiring and recruitment, employee training, CV writing and revamping, or career coaching, send me a DM or chat me on WhatsApp: +2348122955835.

This is one of the most toxic workplace behaviour but unfortunately people still think is normal

I know you might ask yourself what is this HR guy talking about now

well let me answer you; you see i'm talking about "replying to work messages at midnight".

Now, too many teams call this “commitment.”

It is not.

because It is a culture that slowly teaches people to be available all the time, even when they are exhausted, unavailable, or trying to have a life.

Trust me, I have seen smart, high-performing people go from energetic to emotionally drained simply because every message felt urgent.

And the worst part?

Nobody calls it toxic. They call it “how things are done here.”

But, here is the truth:

If everything is urgent, then nothing is truly urgent.

Healthy teams do a few simple things differently:

1. They define what is actually urgent

2. They agree on response windows

2. Leaders stop glorifying late-night replies

4. Teams respect rest as part of performance

Because burnt-out people do not give their best work. They give whatever is left.

And that is expensive for both people and organizations.

If your company wants to build healthier teams, better culture, and stronger performance, I help with organizational training and career coaching.
