OHAEGBULAM ADANNA OF DIAMOND SPECIAL COLLEGE OWERRI EMERGES 2ND RUNNER-UP AT IMO STATE PRELIMINARY of SPELL-A-TON AFRICA NATIONAL SPELLING CHAMPIONSHIP, QUALIFIES FOR NATIONAL STAGE.

Spell-a-ton Africa is delighted to announce that Ohaegbulam Adanna, a student of Diamond Special College, Owerri, has emerged as the 2nd Runner-Up (3rd Position) in the Secondary School Category of the Imo State Preliminary/Qualifying Round of the Spell-a-ton Africa National Spelling Championship.

Adanna demonstrated exceptional spelling ability, confidence, and composure throughout the keenly contested competition, earning her a well-deserved place among the state's top three spellers.

By virtue of this outstanding achievement, she has officially qualified to represent Imo State at the National Championship, where she will compete with outstanding spellers from across Nigeria for national honours.

The organizers, Spell-a-ton Africa, congratulate Ohaegbulam Adanna, her parents, teachers, and the management of Diamond Special College, Owerri, for their commitment to academic excellence and for nurturing a culture of literacy and intellectual development.

SURE FOUNDATION GOLD ACADEMY ORLU PRODUCES IMO STATE PRIMARY CHAMPION AT THE IMO STATE PRELIMINARY/QUALIFYING ROUND OF SPELL-A-TON AFRICA NATIONAL SPELLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Sure Foundation Gold Academy Orlu has emerged in the spotlight at the Spell-a-ton Africa National Spelling Championship – Imo State Preliminary and State Qualifying Round, producing the Champion in the Primary School Category after an exciting and highly competitive contest.

The championship, which attracted pupils from schools across Imo State, showcased exceptional brilliance as contestants demonstrated remarkable spelling proficiency, confidence and composure throughout the competition.

The First Position (Champion) in the Primary Category was won by a pupil of Sure Foundation Gold Academy Orlu, Okechi Tochukwu, while the Second Position was secured by a pupil of Xavier Schools Owerri, Bernard Amazing Chidiuto . The Third Position went to a pupil of Ephaphatha Academy Owerri, Nwachukwu Stephanie Chinwekene , completing an impressive podium of outstanding young spellers.

The Director of Spell-a-ton Africa, Dr. OPrince Agwuncha, congratulated the winning schools and all participating institutions for their commitment to promoting literacy and academic excellence.
He noted that the standard of competition was exceptionally high, with contestants exhibiting a strong command of the official word list and making the contest a very competitive state qualifiers.

Also speaking, the Director/National Coordinator, Miracle Ozonyiri-Nwaneri, applauded the winners, their teachers and parents for their dedication and hard work.
She encouraged schools to continue participating in academic competitions, noting that spelling championships help learners develop vocabulary, reading habits, confidence, communication skills, critical thinking and mental alertness.

The organisation further announced that the Top Ten highest-scoring contestants in the Primary Category have qualified to represent Imo State at the Spell-a-ton Africa National Spelling Championship, where they will compete with outstanding qualifiers from other states across the federation.

Spell-a-ton Africa reminds schools that registration is still open for pupils in Basic 4, Basic 5 and Basic 6 in other states of the federation. Schools are encouraged to register early and enroll at least ten pupils to maximize participation and improve their chances of producing state and national champions.

Spell-a-ton Africa also welcomes sponsorships and strategic partnerships from governments, corporate organizations, educational institutions, foundations and individuals who share its vision of advancing literacy, educational excellence and leadership development among Nigerian children.

SONIA ADAEZE FIDELIS, A JSS 2 PRIVATE CANDIDATE EMERGES STATE SECONDARY CHAMPION AT SPELL-A-TON AFRICA NATIONAL SPELLING CHAMPIONSHIP – IMO STATE QUALIFYING ROUND

A private candidate, Sonia Adaeze Fidelis, has emerged as the Champion of the Secondary Category at the Spell-a-ton Africa National Spelling Championship – Imo State Preliminary and State Qualifying Round, following an outstanding performance in one of the most keenly contested spelling competitions in the state.

Although a student of Concord Model School, Sonia Adaeze Fidelis registered for the championship as a private candidate and was personally prepared and supported by her parents Mr. Fidelis Nnamdi Ogu and Mrs. Chidinma Grace Ogu-Fidelis. Her determination, confidence and excellent mastery of the official word list earned her the championship trophy and the honour of representing Imo State at the national level.

Speaking, her proud mother, Mrs. Chidinma Ogu-Fidelis said she had always been confident that her daughter would bring the trophy home given the level of preparation and determination she poured into the competition. Asked whether she would take the trophy to the school, she emphatically said the trophy would follow her home and rest in her house.

The Second Position in the Secondary School Category was won by a student of Ephaphatha Academy Owerri, Mba Kaosisochi, while Diamond Special College Owerri, produced the Third Position winner Ohaegbulam Adaeze, completing an impressive podium of exceptional young spellers.

Commending the champion and all participants, the Director of Spell-a-ton Africa, Dr. OPrince Agwuncha, described the outcome as proof that excellence is driven by preparation, discipline and determination.

The Director/National Coordinator of Spell-a-ton Africa, Miracle Ozonyiri-Nwaneri, congratulated the winners, emphasizing that having a private candidate emerge as the champion goes further to show the fairness, transparency and highly competitive nature of the completion. She was thrilled with contestants’ display of remarkable confidence and an impressive command of the official word list.

Spell-a-ton Africa wishes to remind parents and schools that participation in the championship is flexible. Contestants may register through their schools or register directly as private candidates, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. This approach ensures that every interested learner has the opportunity to participate, regardless of whether their school is officially registered for the competition.

The organization further announced that registration remains open for students in JSS 1, JSS 2 and JSS 3 in other states across the federation. Schools are encouraged to register multiple students, while parents are equally welcome to register their children directly for participation in their respective state qualifying rounds.
