The Stories Are Not the Same | Rich vs Poor

As someone from the third world—Nigeria—and even at the very bottom of that ladder, I’ve learned something important:
the story of the rich is not the same as the story of the poor.

Not even close.

I once attended an event where a woman who had worked with Spotify shared her journey. She spoke about leaving what was making her money at the time, stepping into a season of “uncertainty,” and how God spoke to her and guided her path.

Nice story. Inspiring, even.

But that story is not the same as the story of someone who grew up on the streets of Ajegunle in Lagos, or in Abakaliki in the East.

When the rich say, “I left with nothing. I didn’t know what to do. I just trusted God,” understand this clearly:
their nothing is not your nothing.

They already had experience.
They already had exposure.
They already had relationships—real relationships, at a high level.

They were not starting from zero.
They were starting from a platform.

So when someone from a privileged background tells you they had “nothing,” what they mean by nothing is often enough to lift a poor person into escape and freedom.

The poor must understand this difference.

Not to despise the rich.
Not to reject faith.
But to interpret these stories with wisdom.

Because if you don’t, you’ll keep measuring your journey with a ruler that was never meant for your road.

Last weekend, I attended the wedding of a rich man’s son in Lagos.

It wasn’t just a wedding — it was an experience. You know those events where even the air smells of money?

From the decorations to the music, from the guests’ cars to the food served, everything screamed class and planning.

4 ways to get money to Start or Grow a Business

If you are in Nigeria and you need to start a New Business or you already run one and want to grow, there are many ways to get funds.

But there are 4 Major ways proven to be the best to source money to start or grow a business.

1. Family and Friends
If you have an uncle, Father, Mother, siblings who are rich, you can approach them with your business plan, ask them to give you money to start or grow it.

This is if you have rich family or friends.

2. Investors and Money lenders
These include pitching to people who have money and want to invest in your business for profit.

They listen to your plan and see if it’s something that will yield big profits or grow well so they can have shares or make profit from it.

3. Bank Loan
Bank loan is recommended if you already have a business running and need more funds to expand. In Nigeria, loan is another discussion.

With high interest rate and the risk of business turning south.

Many businesses have grown through bank loans and investments but some have also gone extinct.

4. Property Investment
This includes buying properties, holding, then selling for a high margin to fund lifestyle or business.

Many people and businesses have leveraged this to finance what they need.

This post is getting long, if not I’ll list people who have done this and advised others to do same.

No 4 is the only way anyone can rely on to make money to fund lifestyle.

That said, currently a property has been selling for weeks very close to the New International Airport of Ogun State—you don’t want to miss this opportunity.

The Idea of Poor Things

Have you ever noticed how your social media feed shapes your perception of what's possible in life? It's a phenomenon I call "The Idea of Poor Things" – where people often remain stuck in financial hardship not because of lack of opportunity, but because their digital world constantly reinforces limiting behaviors and mindsets.

Think about it: What fills your social media feed right now? Is it people making dance videos and random gestures? Or is it individuals sharing valuable insights about wealth creation, business growth, and personal development?

The truth is, we become what we consistently consume. When your daily digital diet consists solely of entertainment-focused content showing ordinary or struggling people, that becomes your reference point for "normal." It subtly programs your mind to accept financial mediocrity as your reality.

Consider this: Successful people didn't get there by accident. They deliberately chose to surround themselves with excellence. They studied the habits of those who achieved what they wanted to achieve. They filled their minds with possibilities rather than limitations.

This isn't about shaming anyone's social media choices. It's about understanding that every scroll, every like, every minute spent watching content is either pulling you toward your financial goals or pushing you further into the cycle of poverty.

The solution? Intentionally curate your digital environment:
1. Follow accounts of successful entrepreneurs and investors who share their journey and insights
2. Subscribe to content that educates you about wealth creation and financial literacy
3. Seek out stories of people who have overcome financial challenges
4. Limit exposure to content that adds no value to your growth journey

Remember: Your mind is like a garden – it will grow whatever you feed it. If you constantly feed it with "poor things," don't be surprised when poverty becomes your harvest.

The next time you're about to spend an hour watching random social media content, ask yourself: "Is this feeding my future, or is it feeding my limitations?"

Your digital diet today shapes your reality tomorrow. Choose wisely.

5 Ways to Get More Customers for Your Business

If you want to grow your business, the secret is simple: attract more customers. But how do you do that without breaking the bank or wasting your time on methods that don’t work? Let me show you five powerful strategies that can help you get more customers fast. Stick with me till the end because the last method will blow your mind!

1. Use Social Media Consistently

Social media is where your customers are hanging out. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook give you access to billions of people for free. But here’s the catch: you can’t just post once in a while and expect magic. Be consistent. Post every day, share helpful tips, showcase your products, and engage with your audience. Social media consistency builds trust, and trust turns followers into customers.

2. Offer Irresistible Discounts or Bonuses

Who doesn’t love a good deal? Offering discounts or adding bonuses to your products can grab attention and make people act fast. For example, you could say, “Buy today and get 20% off” or “Order now and get a free gift.” But remember, your offer has to make sense. Don’t just slash prices without thinking it through—add value that excites your customers.

3. Leverage Word of Mouth

Do you know what sells faster than any ad? A happy customer telling someone else about your business. Ask your current customers to spread the word about you. You can even give them incentives like referral discounts or rewards. When people hear about your product from someone they trust, they are more likely to become your next customer.

4. Run Targeted Ads

Ads can bring in customers quickly if you do them the right way. Instead of trying to sell to everyone, focus on a specific audience—people who are already interested in what you offer. Platforms like Facebook and TikTok let you target based on age, interests, and location. Start with a small budget and test what works. When done well, ads can turn strangers into paying customers overnight.

5. Collaborate with Small TikTok Influencers.

Now, here’s the game-changer. This is the strategy most businesses don’t know about but could completely transform how you get customers. It’s called TikTok Influencer Marketing.

Here’s how it works: instead of spending money on big influencers who charge thousands, you collaborate with smaller TikTok influencers. These are people with a smaller but loyal following.

Why does this work? Because their audience trusts them and listens to what they recommend.

Imagine this: You sell a product, and a TikTok influencer makes a fun video about it. Their followers see it, get curious, and start buying. That’s the power of this way of getting customers and it works like magic.

If you’re serious about getting more customers faster and easier, then I'll recommend Tiktok influencer marketing.

Have you been trying to market your business on TikTok, but nothing seems to work?"

Let me tell you a quick story about a young fashion designer named Ada. She poured her heart into creating stunning designs. Everyone who saw her work said she had “talent for days.”

But despite her efforts, her sales were flat. She had heard about TikTok’s potential, so she decided to dive in.

Ada created videos, ran ads, and even reached out to a few big influencers. She thought she was doing everything right. But after months of trying, her results were disappointing. Her videos got views but no sales. Her ads drained her savings. And the influencers she paid barely moved the needle.

Ada was heartbroken. She started to believe that TikTok wasn’t meant for her business.

Does Ada’s story sound familiar?

If you’ve been struggling to make TikTok work for your business, it’s not your fault. Most people make the same mistakes Ada did. Here are the 3 common TikTok marketing mistakes I’ve seen over and over—and how you can avoid them:

---

1. Partnering with the Wrong Influencers

Big influencers look glamorous, right? They have thousands—maybe even millions—of followers. But here’s the truth: Most of their followers don’t trust them.

Why? Because they promote too many products, and their audience knows they’re just in it for the money.

Smaller influencers, on the other hand, have REAL relationships with their followers. They feel like a trusted friend. When they recommend a product, their audience listens—and buys.

---

2. Spending Too Much on Ads Instead of Relationships

Ada thought TikTok ads were the answer to all her problems. She spent money targeting her ideal audience, but the clicks didn’t translate into sales.

Why? Because TikTok isn’t just about ads—it’s about connection. TikTok users crave authentic content, not just flashy ads. That’s why influencer partnerships outperform ads every single time.

---

3. Focusing on Views Instead of Conversions

Ada had a few viral videos, and she thought, “This is it!” But those videos didn’t bring in customers.

Here’s the hard truth: Views don’t pay the bills. Sales do.

The key to TikTok success isn’t about going viral—it’s about building trust and converting the right audience into loyal customers.

---

When Ada finally learned these lessons, everything changed. She started working with smaller influencers, focusing on authentic collaborations, and creating campaigns designed to convert. Her sales shot up, and she finally felt like all her hard work was paying off.

If you want to avoid Ada’s mistakes and start seeing real results on TikTok, I’ve created something just for you:
