What's Culture?
This can be said to be the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society.

What's Rotaract?
This is said to have been coined out from "Rotary In Action", and this basically serves as the youth wing of Rotary international which is a world wide recognised Non governmental organisation founded mainly to serve humanity in our respective communities.

What's RotaCulture?
This is an annual event organised in the Rotary family to showcase diverse culture, irrespective of family background, religious beliefs and tradition.

The Rotaract District9111 Nigeria, held her 2025/26 rotary year RotaCulture on Saturday 31st of January at the Egbe-Idimu LCDA hall, Idimu Lagos, Nigeria.

The 4 areas attached to the Rotaract D9111 were well represented as each of the areas were given a tribe to represent in the cultural display.
The Ogun west and central area represented the Yoruba tribe under the leadership of ADRR (Ass. District Rotaract Representative) Rtr. Zainab Akinwande PHF, and provided a member of the Rotaract Club Of Ota, Rtr. Prince Olamilekan O. Okeyinka leading the Yoruba culture performance.

As it is widely known that there are many dialects attached to the Yoruba tribe, it was unanimously agreed that the AWORI dialect, be made a point of Yoruba cultural reflection and this earned the Ogun West and Central an undisputed winning as the performances wowed the audience and the judges.

Few of the presentations that earn the Ogun West and Central the winning was
1. The Yoruba full regalia,
The A*o Oke (worn by distinguished personalities and dignitaries)

2. The Awori favourite delicacy Obé gbure, Eja, Eba and Emu (Waterleaf Soup, Fish, Garri, and freshly tapped Palm wine)

3. The Egungun masquerade doing the Baata dance, and Ewi. (Local drum dance and the chant).

Another exciting moment which brings another plus the Ogun West and Central was the announcement of the best dressed male which goes to the Yoruba cultural presentation leader Rtr. Prince Olamilekan O. Okeyinka, which also doubled with the Mr. Handsome Rotaract District 9111 Nigeria, at the 2024/25 District Conference held at Afromedia, Ojo Lagos.

The RotaCulture 2025/26 was an atmosphere filled with lots of fun and extravagant cultural displays.

Let's Celebrate our diverse culture, protect and uplift our cultural heritage!
